The Shin Bet foiled a planned terrorist attack targeting National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, arresting a 20-year-old East Jerusalem resident suspected of preparing a shooting attack. According to the Shin Bet, the suspect had been in contact with terror operatives in Yemen and Turkey and had attempted to obtain a weapon before being apprehended.
The investigation was launched in recent weeks based on Shin Bet intelligence. Ben Gvir thanked the Shin Bet for thwarting the attack and vowed he will not be deterred, adding that authorities will continue to act decisively against terrorism and threats to public officials.
