The U.S. has deported an Iranian pro-democracy activist to the Central African Republic, according to the activist’s lawyer, who warned the individual could ultimately face repatriation to Iran.

The activist was reportedly on the first deportation flight to the Central African Republic under a new U.S. program that transfers certain migrants to foreign countries willing to accept them.
