IDF Chief Approves New Lebanon Battle Plans, Says Military on High Alert After Beirut Strikes

Following Israel’s strike on Hezbollah targets in Beirut, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said the military is closely monitoring developments and maintaining a high level of readiness across all fronts. Speaking to commanders at the Northern Command, he described the current situation as “sensitive and complex” and said the IDF remains alert and prepared for any scenario.

Zamir said Lebanon remains Israel’s primary focus, though the military is also preparing for potential developments in other arenas. He added that continued operational successes against Hezbollah are helping weaken the group’s presence in southern Lebanon and improve future security arrangements, while also approving new battle plans for Lebanon during the meeting.
