Ramapo: Student Struck By O&R Truck


pdcOn Thursday at approximately 3:20PM the Ramapo Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car on Rt 306 at the corner of Grandview Ave. Upon arrival responding units learned that a 15 year old female student from Suffern High School was struck by an Orange and Rockland vehicle (2009 Chevy pick-up truck) in the intersection of Rt 306 and Grandview Ave. At the time of the accident the 15 year old student was running on Grandview Ave with fellow students, for track practice. While crossing the intersection she was struck by the Orange and Rockland vehicle (which was traveling south on RT 306). The pedestrian was treated on scene by Spring Hill Ambulance and Rockland Paramedics for a lower leg fracture. She was then transported to Westchester medical center for evaluation. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

At this time no traffic summonses have been issued. The accident is still currently under investigation by the Ramapo Police Accident Investigation Unit.
