INN: Speaking to foreign media correspondents, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Monday defended Israel?s ongoing counter-terror offensive in Gaza, stating, ?I will stop when I will feel that I can provide security for the people of Israel.?Referring to the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority (PA) administration, Olmert stated, ?This is the first time in modern history that there is a whole government that is a terrorist government.?
The prime minister rejected European Union allegations that Israel is violating the basic rights of Palestinian Authority (PA) residents, rhetorically asking, ?how can one measure the trepidation, the anxiety and the fear?? referring to residents of southern areas who are daily victims to Kassam rocket attacks.
The prime minister added, ?When was the last time that the European community condemned this shooting, the rockets, and suggested effective measures to stop it??
