Frayer Yid forces Chillul Shabbos on a Frum Yid

An Orthodox Jewish photographer yesterday slapped upscale jewelry retailer Michael C. Fina with a $2.5 million discrimination lawsuit, claiming company bosses – who are non-observant Jews – mocked her religious observances and kosher diet before canning her without cause.

Rockind, 35, told The Post that the bosses at Fina “were degrading and they were extremely sarcastic, and they were constantly demeaning my beliefs.” They caused her to nearly miss the start of Sabbath a number of times by demanding she finish photographing the retailer’s high-priced baubles for ads, she said.

Her Manhattan Supreme Court suit claims the Finas gave Rockind grief about religious obligations – even after agreeing in writing when they hired her in April to “allow you time off to observe the Jewish holidays” and Sabbaths, if she made up the time.

Rockind said honcho Steven Fina would “wave non-kosher food in my face” at the company’s Fifth Avenue offices.

And, Rockind said, Fina and his brother Jeffrey “made fun of the diamond dealers that came in that were Orthodox. They made comments about their dress, what they could serve them as far as food goes.”

  1. Hey, if she makes some money out of the deal, I have nothing against her. It sounds like her bosses were out to degrade and humiliate her, and could use a little reminder how to treat human beings that don’t have the cash to spend on their baubles. Maybe we should spread the name of their business around and have an ad-hoc boycott!

  2. Noone can hate a Shomer Sabbos Jew as much as a mechallel Shabbos.

Even an anti-Semitic goy can’t reach that level, because he doesn’t understand any of it.

  3. Your headline, “Frayer Yid forces Chillul Shabbos on a Frum Yid,” is incorrect according to the story as the story clearly says, “They caused her to nearly miss the start of Sabbath a number of times by demanding she finish photographing the retailer’s high-priced baubles for ads.”

We all see the word NEARLY which does not mean she did.

If you want to make up headlines you might as well work for the NY Slimes, The Washington Compost, or something like that. There is nothing wrong with a true headline. The story is strong enough.
