WATCH: Motorcade of The Satmar Rebbe of Williamsburg As He Leaves To Israel

  1. I can’t believe that my tax dollars are being used to escort a (minor) religious “leader” to the airport!!

A waste of money and a chilul hashem.

  2. Why the need for all those annoying sirens? It doesn’t look like there is any traffic on the road. With all due respect, hes not the President of the United States. Is this how they were noheg in Eyhul by the Yismach Moshe ZTK”L, when he traveled, or is this just an indication of how comfortable they have become in this galus?

  3. This does not cause kavod haTorah.
This does not cause a kiddush Hashem.
This does not make our non Jewish host nation happy to have us with them.
And the purpose of his visit isnt going to bring any Jews closer to their Creator in heaven, nor will it make any Jews safer physicly or spiritualy.
Why are Hatzala operators abusing public funds by acting like little boys during recess?

  4. Is this a true story?

In any case, wouldn’t motorcycle outriders be a more effective way to clear traffic and keep a motorcade safe?

  5. Trying very hard to be positive. Could someone here please explain why this is ok. (Lets remember that that Crown Heights riot were started when the Lubavitch Rebbe’s Motorcade hit and killed a young child.) I am also under the impression that Hatzolah is allowed to use their lights and sirens only for emergencies. There are municipalities where they don’t allow volunteers to use red lights and sirens – and this is one of the reasons why. Did the drivers consider that they could be a cause of all Hatzolah loosing the right to use lights and sirens when on a call? The Satmar Rebbe allows this, so I assume he is ok with this. I am just trying to understand why.

  6. Is the limo with the ISRAELI FLAG the one that the Rebbe is in???

Can’t wait to see the landing motorcade in the holy land with the Israeli police & security???

  7. Was it an inyan of pikuach nefesh or an inyan to cause anti-semetisim to the goyim who couldn’t figure why in the world he had to go “light & sirens”?

  8. The rogue Israeli journalist Golan should see this to get some understanding of how highly the goyim regard the holy Satmar Rebbe Shlita, who Golan wants deported. Those who hate us the most are unfortunately our own.

  9. Doubtlessly the Rebbe himself wasn’t apprised in what manner he’d be accompanied on his shlichus to Eretz Yisroel. His chasidim trying to give the proper kovod for a godol yisroel made all the arrangements for him without his input.

  10. such a chilul hashem. i saw this when he came in to lakewood for something and i was horrified to think that this is a ruchnius leader..seems to me like all he does is show his people that you can be a parasite and take whatever you can from the gvmt/ppl and dont need to give anything back. What abt this is chassidus?

  11. Amazing how I am reading the comments and see how ignorant the people out of WIlliamsburg are.

#1- This has nothing to do with the NYPD.

#2- This has nothing to do with Hatzolah.

#3- This is 100% against the law.

#4- This is 100% a massive Chiilul Hashem.

#5- This will 100% end badly one day. Either in a bad accident, or with people arrested…..to be followed by the regular “anti-semitism” screams.

In fact, there are Satmar chassidim reading this comment RIGHT NOW – who are yelling “anti-semite” at me for writing this.

This despicable and disgusting behavior MUST BE STOPPED. It does not matter if it is stopped by the police department.

It will affect the license of Hatzolah. Unfortunately, these animals driving like reckless chayos and breaking all vehcular and traffic laws in the name of “kavod” are all considered “Hztolah ambulances” in the eyes of the police.

No one should think for a SECOND that the police “look the other way”. And if they do, they should all be held accountable.

The MAYOR doesn’t get paraded around like this. The POLICE COMMISSIONER doesn’t get driven around like this.

I am a Haztolah member for over 20 years, and am appalled by this behavior. This needs to be STOPPED NOW. Before someone get’s killed.

And excuse me ahead of time for saying it, but the Rebbe should be held accountable for this. He was the one being paraded around. And they ALL do this. A few months ago there was a wedding for the child of a Rebbe in Williamsburg. There are MAYBE 150 chassidim of this Rebbe….yet he was paraded by a convoy of these cowboys to the Chupa.

Enough is enough. This MUST STOP NOW.

Here are other videos from other Williamsburg “Chassidish” escorts:

  12. We happened to encounter the Pope’s motorcade coming down the FDR during his visit. The Rebbe’s is about three times as big. Why is all this necessary?

You can tell how long the line of vehicles are, the camera that is filming is staying in one place as the motorcade passes by. And passes. And passes. And passes. Tens of cars!

Too much ga’ava, too much show-off. Not only do these things rarely end well, it is also completely unnecessary for the circumstances. The Rebbe has the power to start up such a spectacle, he also has the power to shut it down. It does not reflect well on him that he accepts this.

  13. we all have our own toys, some people have the latest iphones, some people like their bagel with lettuce, pickles,a little cole slaw, scooped out with cream cheese on one half and tuna on the other.some people like expensive scotch, and some people like cars that go fast and make alot of noise.im happy that these yiddin get to play with their toys on the belt pkwy but I didnt think a rebba would have so many toys.

  14. This is a chillul hashem and these ppl are crazy
I am a family member of a Hatzolah member I know what goes on and the town I’m in they will never allow this and Its a huge chillul hashem

  15. It’s a shame that every one always assumes that any SUV with lights and sirens is Hatzalah. This has nothing to do with Hatzalah. It is totally wrong and against the law. I really hope no one gets hurt. Just remember anyone can install lights and sirens into their vehicle. Please do not blame Hatzalah because they have a zero tolerance policy in regarding to such behavior.

  16. For all the trash that Satmar spews about the medina, his holiness should be denied entry upon arrival at Ben Gurion.

Other than the wonderful work they do with Bikur Cholim, their poisonous venomous polarizing verbage about each other – and everyone else- is an embarrassment to Klal Yisroel.

  17. What in the world could possibly have made this ok??
They put takanos on the chasidim but for the rebbe…all out is ok???
What a waste of time, money, people and a big chilul hashem.

  18. dear fellow yidden, while u may or may not approve of the satmar rebbes motorcade the reality is the comments on this video have nothing to do with the motorcade , it stems from a base hatred of satmar and chasides this kind of sinas chinem is what got the beis mikdash destroyed these comments are absolutely disgusting and there writers should do teshuva AND STOP WITH THIS SINAS CHINAM IF U MOSHIACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. philosopher: almost anytime you post on this site, it is to make some anti-Satmar screed.

Yeah yeah, we know, you “grew up chasidish”. And I have a lot of black friends, so I’m definitely not racist.

  20. KJ chusid, what you are saying is completely untrue. I would say the majority of commentors, myself included, absolutely do not hate, Satmer Chassidim. I personally have a lot of Satmer friends and I love the warmth and friendliness only found in Satmer.

HOWEVER, the ostentatious presence of Satmer , the loudness, the inability to realize what causes chillul Hashem and the “reitzing” up of hatred of anti-Semites towards Jews ( and yes I know anti-Semites will hate us regardless, but we absolutely have no excuse to rouse a sleeping bear) is extremely naive as you don’t realize there can be SEVERE consequences for doing this with your own hands. The world does not revolve only around you. There are people out there who are effected by your actions. So yes, locally you may have politicians who will go along with your whims because of your block votes, but outside of your own little sphere people see your actions and judge ALL of us according to your behavior. You need to pipe down, whether trying to annex 500 acres and making Goyim/non religious Jews angry about that, (just buy your houses and live quietly without trying to change the character of the area according to your wishes) having motorcades like this for your Rebbes, or making protests against Zionists (not including against the forced draft- at least that is a worthwhile cause) while rockets are being shot at our own people in Israel and all the while living below poverty level and getting a bit too much government aid as an entire community. So you gotta shape up and try to remember that we are in golus, for heaven’s sake, please try to remember that!

  21. Its not sinas chinam to speak emes and say to to Teitelbaum’s goons that this type of behavior is both immoral and probably illegal. Those who planned and participated in this chillul hashem should be in jail.

  22. @kjchusid this is not sinas chinam at all but a BIG chillul hashem no mayar and no politician gets such an escort so why u guys always busy about hisgarus beimes with the Zionism and i will tell u there is nothing more hisgarus beimes than blocking off the highway and flying like idiots on the highway on 100 mph what a shame on “those” rabbis and a bunch of hypocrites

  23. Toras Moshe, I’m sorry that I sound so anti-Satmer. I really truly am. I do struggle whether I should write about this. However, let’s face the fact, that certain behaviors are chillul Hashem and reflects badly on all of us. For example, when Chassidim of a particular Chassidis went to Arizona or Texas, I forgot already which it was, to stand on line for government assistance, it blackened the image of us all which is a chillul Hashem. Why did people have to travel out of state for assistance? It would do well to think about that and come up with answers.

I’m not saying you should sit like lemelech if people take advantage of you. But really, I mean, some things just need a major tikkun because it is getting out of hand.

Now, I write about other things too, like tznius and other stuff that don’t pertain to Satmer but other people don’t like it either. I write about what I feel. I’m sorry I that it hurts others. But how can I be quiet when I know the consequences of these actions WILL c”v have terrible effects?

  24. I completely agree that this is something that shouldn’t have been done .But why are we not up in arms about much more important issues?

  25. Wow! I’m So Happy that there is still a person who will be able to take over R’ Belsky’s position in the OU, and פסקין on ד׳ חלקי שו״ע! I don’t know this Rebbe, but where do his Chasidim hold his גדלות is? Torah, Avodah, Chesed, Kedusha, Shalom? (Blind Faith, is foreign to Judaism, but more like Christianly)

  26. And BTW, for those saying I bash Satmer, I KNOW there are Satmer Chassidim who agree with me regarding a lot of points I make. And no, they are not bums or whatever. They are simply not being naive.

Be honest here. This has nothing to do with hating Satmer Chassidim. But this has everything to do with understanding that you need act responsibly and understand the consequences of your actions.

  27. I usually have nothing to add to (or take away from) this site.

I just wanted to say that in terms of the Rebbe himself, whenever he is here in NMB, he toyveled in our mikvah each morning, with anyone who was in there with him – myself included.

Zero gayvuh, not a hint of “clear out this mikvah” from the rebbe or his shamash.

    I don’t have anything else – politics/hashkafah/etc – to add.

The yid who was in that mikvah with me, many many times, couldn’t have had anything to do with this chillul hashem.

  28. This is categorically assur mishum aivah umishum yehorah, and if the general media takes on this story will increase resentment against us. (and possibly worse for the idiots involved). Also the use of lights and sirens is a privilege granted to Hatzolah solely for MEDICAL emergencies, if it is abused it will be deemed illegal or severely restricted (as it is in every state except NY).

2 NJ troopers were arrested for leading an illegal escort here: http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/04/video_shows_nj_state_police_le.html

  29. I think these comments are mostly misguided.

The non-Jewish police and fire emergency services and the political operatives of the United States of America are paying respect to the Holy Jewish souls who bring blessings down on this land.

It is correct and proper and it is a good sign for the Jews who connect NYC with Hashem.

Don’t be afraid that the so-called “host nation” will be offended, I grew up secular surrounded by non-Jews almost 100% and Americans love G-d and respect the Jewish connectivity.

My grandparents are Holocaust survivors and yes there is a fear of Gentiles and provoking them which is mostly unfounded except for certain groups who are actively suppressed by the US Government on behalf of all citizens.

Let the Rebbeim enjoy the trappings like Reb Boruch of Mezhibuzh, when misnadgim saw his fancy boots they scoffed at him until after Kiddush Levana the Hasidim saw blood in the snow because the luxury shoes had no soles, he made a Potemkin Village and was a poor man in material reality.

Leave the Rebbe alone. I am not Satmar by the way.

  30. Just saying that the only reason the Satmar Rebbe Was able to land safely in Israel and drive around there without the plane or his car being targeted by Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS, PLO, terrorists,is due to being protected by the IDF and Israeli Air Force under the guidance of der Aibeshder.

  31. I am not a Satmarer Chossid. I once met the Rebbe Shlita who seems a humble individual. I doubt he realised what was happening on the Belt and am sure that if he read this blog he would be horrified. That is not his personal way of behaving. Many of these “shticks” are games played by chassidim; little boys playing games. is there anyone reading this who can bring it to the Rebbe’s attention.
