Their gallant efforts are immensely appreciated by each and every member of the community they serve so nobly,” said Rabbi Friedman.

Participants, joined by numerous elected officials, including NY State Senator and Majority Conference Leader John Sampson, State Senator Eric Adams, State Senator Daniel Squadron, Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries, NYC Comptroller John Liu. NYC Public advocate Bil DeBlasio. Assemblyman Joseph Lenthol. unanimously hailed President Mungeer and the members of the State Police for their role in monitoring safety and security at the Sloatsburg Rest Area on the New York State Thruway, a stop heavily trafficked, especially during the summer season, by the State’s sizeable Orthodox Jewish community.
