After Foot-Pursuit, Cops Arrest 2 On East 31 & Ave J With Gun

At approximately 1:30AM on Thursday morning, residents on East 31st Street and Avenue J were awakened by the noise of a police chopper overhead, and dozens of officers running through the streets and yards. The cause of the action was a foot-pursuit, which ended with the NYPD successfully arresting two suspects in possession of a gun. The incident unfolded when officers from the NYPD’s 63rd Precinct made a traffic stop of a suspicious vehicle on Nostrand Avenue and Avenue J. After approaching the vehicle, one of the suspects fled on foot, while the other stayed behind and allowed officers to search the vehicle. A large gun was found in the vehicle.

Meanwhile, additional officers chased the fleeing suspect through the yards, and officers from the 70 Precinct were dispatched to assist them, as well as Aviation, K9, and Emergency Service Units.

  2. Sher Hachein,

Doesn’t a small gun do the same harm as a Large one. The problem is: Why do so many people own guns?

  3. @tryinghard
ya we should just ban all guns and I’m sure nothing like this will happen because these guys probably follow the law

  4. “What is happening to our neighborhoods???”
