Drowning In Kiryat Chaim Beach


A young man was pulled from the water at the beach in Kiryat Chaim, in the Krayot, near Haifa, just before noon on Wednesday 8 Shevat.

Lifeguards pulled him from the water and began resuscitation efforts. They were joined by volunteer EMS first responders from United Hatzalah. The young man was in serious condition and was extracted from the beach on an ATV while undergoing continued resuscitation efforts. He was transported by Magen David Adom to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.

United Hatzalah EMT Yisrael Menachem, who was among the first responders at the scene said: “When I arrived at the scene I found a young man who had been pulled from the water by lifeguards who happened to be exercising in the area near of the beach near the water. I provided first aid treatment to him at the scene and then helped load him up onto an ATV belonging to Haifa city’s coast guard. I together with another volunteer continued to treat him during the ride to the ambulance that was waiting at the entrance to the beach. He was taken to Rambam medical center in serious condition for further treatment.”
