In a shocking poll just one day before New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary, a new poll shows Queens Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani pulling ahead of former Governor Andrew Cuomo in the final round of ranked-choice voting.
The Emerson College poll, conducted in partnership with PIX11 and The Hill, shows a tight race in the opening round, with Cuomo leading at 35% and Mamdani trailing closely at 32%.
However, in the ranked-choice simulation run by Emerson, Mamdani ultimately defeats Cuomo 52% to 48% in the eighth and final round of vote tallying. It’s the first time Mamdani has led in the final results of any Emerson polling to date — signaling a potential upset in the making.
Mamdani, who has roots in Indian and Ugandan heritage, has made headlines in recent months for his inflammatory attacks on Israel. In October, he declared: “I will always be clear in my language and based in facts: Israel is committing a genocide,” and has accused Israel of “massacring babies” in Gaza—echoing some of the most grotesque and unfounded propaganda pushed by Hamas supporters.

If he wins it will be the fork in the road for the Democrats. They can renounce him (and with him the entire Progressive Wing) or they can acknowledge that the Progressive Wing now is the Democratic Party (forcing all Democrats nationally to run on a WOKE platform that includes open anti-Semitism), and thereby forcing non-WOKE Democrats to look elsewhere, either as a “third party” or to support the Republicans.
At the same time, Trump has gone a long ways to reconciling with the non-MAGA Republicans, for whom “America First” isolationism was a serious problem, and which Trump’s display of globalistic interventionism has undermined.
Hakol min shamayim. If Mamdami wins then it will be good for jews. If he loses then it will be good for the jews. Hashem does everything for a reason and is watching out for the klal yisrael. Maybe hashem wants people to pray and cry to him. Sometimes we need to wake up and join together in tefilot. Whatever happens in the elections is from hashem and we nees to accept the will of hashem. If this guy is really bad for the jews, maybe we need to look into ourselves and see where we went wrong and try to do teshuva for our sins. If we dont do teshuva, the consequences will be damaging to jewish people.
New York has ranked choice voting and the polls are notoriously bad at predicting this type of election outcome.
Hopefully he will be trounced, the Jewish community will hopefully get out and vote
