The IDF has sent another 54,000 draft notices to bnei yeshivos and is now preparing to tighten enforcement measures, with a plan for widespread arrest operations throughout the country in cooperation with the Israel Police.

According to a Channel 12 News report on Wednesday evening, the timeframe for reporting to draft offices will be shortened, and arrests will take place within six weeks of the order being issued.

Any ben yeshivah who “evades” for more than 540 days will go to prison, while “evaders” for shorter periods will undergo expedited trials and will be enlisted afterward.

The IDF will increase enforcement at Ben Gurion Airport ahead of the travel period to Uman before Rosh Hashanah in order to arrest those required to enlist as they attempt to leave the country.

The enforcement plan, formulated by Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, includes the establishment of roadblocks, the opening of dedicated detention facilities, and proactive enforcement based on intelligence.

  1. “There will be no quotas or targets, neither 50 percent nor 2%,” reads the (Hamodia) editorial, referring to efforts to negotiate rules that will set enlistment quotas and punishments against draft dodgers. “There will be no sanctions, and all discussions on the matter are irrelevant.”

No surprises here. Intransigence meets Intransigence.

No surprises here. Intransigence meets Intransigence. As water reflects the face….

  3. צרת ציבור חצי נחמה, they can’t arrest everyone. The goal here is to create a crisis situation and collapse the government. No regard whatsoever for the sensitivity of the current security/military/diplomatic situation… Typical Israeli Left MO, apropos the AG and Bagatz.

  4. Ywn wants to play both sides

Like the bochur who’s looking for a zonah who is machshiv Torah

They want to promote gedolim and glorify tzahal at the same time

Tell Bibi stop for 6 months the redifah of Ben yeshiva and see how all of a sudden these countries recognising Palestine will stop.

  5. >>>Tell Bibi stop for 6 months the redifah of Ben yeshiva and see how all of a sudden these countries recognising Palestine will stop.

Side point but Bibi is being used a whipping boy and scapegoat in this. It wasn’t his idea to draft Yeshiva Bochurim, he made no effort to do so and from all the potential PMs of Israel he is the most sympathetic to the Chariedi point of view.

The people on the supreme court, the AG, the opposition parties who are so strongly pushing for the draft are for the most part thrilled with countries recognizing Palestine because it hurts Bibi and because they are such leftists that they see it as a good idea

  6. Price to pay when talking and be friend with reshayims
Be’Ezrat HaShem Palestinian state will be official in September and all bne I Torah will be able to cross the border and get asylum from yshamel. No flight ticket no visa. Better be a dimmi in eretz Hakodesh than a victim from the Erev rav. Rabbanims sold us out since 1920 and the agudat zara Israël then again with all their political parties of kofrims. As the zohar hakadosh says NO talking with reshayims even not looking at their faces. Vengeance of HaShem will be terrible and well deserved. We have no gdolei hador for a very long time just get this into your heads

  7. What does this have to do with Uman? It’s interesting how both the Ukrainian and the Israeli governments think that Uman is such a hot issue with Chareidim in general. Some of the Chareidi politicians like to pretend to help with Uman, but they have never and probably will never go out of their comfort zone to do so. As it stands, the people who go to Uman for Rosh Hashanah span the entire gamut of Jewry, from Yerushalmi Kanoyim types to ‘Traditional’ and ‘Chiloni’, and literally every other group, including all flavors of Yeshivish, Chassidish, RZ, MO, FFB, BT, etc. Many of them have served, or continue to serve, in the Army. Many of them would never go to the Army, and would not be drafted even if they wanted to. (Try going to the לשכת הגיוס dressed as a ‘Hilltop Youth’ or a Yerushalmi…)
