Anti-Semitic Attack in France


Three Jewish youths wearing yarmulkes, ages 18-20, were targeted in Villeurbanne France in an anti-Semitic attack. According to local police, a gang of ten attacked the youths with hammers and pipes on shabbos afternoon in the areas of the Beis Menachem School.

The victims required medical attention for their injuries, some admitted for a short period, all of the victims listed in light condition Baruch Hashem.

French officials decried the attack. A special task force has been established to find those responsible. According to the reports filed by the victims, their attackers appeared “North African”.

  1. Not sure why the picture is of white people if the attackers were North African, unless they were from Morroco, but the picture looks like white caucasian and not white Africans. VeHamaven Yovin.

    2. “A Jaffa Street apartment in Jerusalem was set ablaze during the night, Sunday night to Monday morning, 14 Sivan 5772, a home rented by foreigners from Eritrea. Graffiti “get out of our neighborhood” was found at the fire scene by police, painted on the wall in black paint.”

    The common horror is so depressing…haven’t we learned enough to condemn #2 as much as we do #1, even if from different vantage points. Is arson against a home occupied by sleeping people something we don’t react to if done by “us” against “others?” Yet not one posting to the YWN World story on the arson attack.
