Around 2:00AM Sunday morning, Chaverim of Rockland County received a phone call from a local resident stating that there are two suspicious males walking on Saddle River Rd. Chaverim immediately dispatched two volunteers to the area, and observe what the individuals were doing at that hour of the night.
When the first Chaverim Volunteer arrived on the scene, he witnessed the individuals entering peoples private property. Additional members were sent as backup, and the two men were observed for more than an hour.
When the two perps arrived in the area of the Nickelsberg Beis Medrash, they stole 2 bikes and started to run.
Chaverim immediately contacted Ramapo and Spring Valley Police, who arrived in minutes. Together with the Police Chaverim chased one male until Route 45 and Maple Avenue, and the other suspect was caught on Twin Ave and Maple Ave.
One of the bikes were registered at the Chaverim Bike Registration. The owner was contacted and the bike was returned on Sunday morning. Another bike is still in the possession of police. If you live in that neighborhood and are missing a bike please contact Chaverim at 845-371-6333.
Please save the date: This coming Friday, June 21 will be the Annual Bike Registration at Viola Park. Please make sure to register all your bikes, as this story proves – it will help you locate a stolen bike!

Can you post pictures of the 2nd bike? My son got one after registration last year and it was stolen.
