After being placed into the Intensive Care Unit on Friday afternoon, it is being reported that Maran Hagon Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita is in stable condition, and feeling much better at Bnei Brak’s Maynei HaYeshua Hospital.

The Gadol Hador had been complaining of feeling ill and was very weak the past few days, and a decision was made Thursday afternoon to have him hospitalized for tests.

The results of the tests found an infection, and he was placed on antibiotics.

Unfortunately, on Friday afternoon he came down with high fever, and his doctors decided to upgrade him to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.

Pleasecontinue to be Mispallel for Shmaryahu Yosef Chaim ben Pesha Miriam.

  1. one is not “upgraded” to an ICU! This is a “downgrade” in one’s condition. An upgrade is when one gets better. It is a positive sign not a negative one. We understand what you mean to say, however his condition has become more serious.

  2. BeChasdei H there has been a drastic, described by his doctors as miraculous, improvement and he himself made kiddush and sang zmiros.
It seems that on Erev Shabbos the situation was much worse we were told, and there was a real danger to his life ch.v.. The family wanted to avoid panic hence they spoke about “high fever”.
    May we hear bsuros tovos

  3. The term “upgraded” refers to the medical care, not the actual patient.
So yes, there was an upgrade to the ICU.
    Are we all clear, now?
