The error message: please put in MM/DD/YY form.

    I’d like a word with those programmers…

What a wonderful post, Sister Bear! Your hakaras hatov while going through your challenges is a testament to your strength of character.

Remember that hrough your challenge, you’ll be developing more coping muscles and skills.

Btw, probably no one is thinking that you have no right to “complain”.

He is also an editor at Artscroll/Mesorah Publications, at work on the new Midrash Rabbah project. Rabbi Bechhofer has served as a Rav, Rebbe and Rosh Kollel in the Chicago and New York areas.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort soon.

    You are describing several things:

-grief and trauma from the sudden ptira

-insecurity about when the next “hit” will take place and to whom

-a desire for self-improvement while you still have the chance

    This sounds normal to me.

    ==========================================================

You can probably do several things:

*read books on the normal stages of grief

*read the Garden of Emuna. Increasing emuna helps with worrying about things that are not in your control

*write a detailed list now of the things you’d like to improve and how you are going to go about doing that. Keep track of your progress. You may find it easier with a support system.

Hatzlacha! It’s a great zchus to the niftar that you are using this as a springboard to personal growth, which is really what Hashem wants. Kol hakavod.

Some people just don’t get it, that’s a given. At least you tried.

I’d love to give you the number of the chesed coordinator (it’s her cell number) but obviously I prefer not posting it here.

You really have such special qualities about you. No matter what you are going through, you have high standards. Just remember to focus on all the GREAT stuff going on in your life right now as well…

    Hummingbird

    You’re quite welcome.

One thing I’ve learned in life is that you can’t live your life worrying about how others will react when you are doing nothing wrong. That would make it THEIR problem, not yours.

However, when you say “I’d feel so uneasy doing something like that”, that’s totally different.

Would you feel better with the following card:

Gumball, so in your example, if you split half the Mint Chocolate chip ice cream with person A and half of it with person B….

in reply to: Math Question #826358
    am yisrael chai
    Participant

    In 1/2 A + 1/2 B = 1/2(A+B), you are not distributing anything. You are factoring out the 1/2.

In the reverse 1/2(A+B)=1/2 A + 1/2 B, you are distributing out the 1/2 and removing parentheses.
