Is there such a thing as CR notifications to let you know when a thread that you posted on, has a new post?

Or, must you click on your username and scroll down the list seeing which ones have recent posts?

    1. Well, by us, everyone is more than happy to tell what they’ve learned, so I can’t really help you there… Maybe ask them individually all throughout, if they have something to add.

2.When there’s a lot of kids it can get quite tricky bc you want them each to feel like their divrei torah are being treasured and listened to. I suggest each picking out a few things to say, the BEST of what they’ve learned, and that way, the Seder wont go on forever (works in our house)

Same divrei torah-wise, um, that could be an issue. Depending on the age of the kids, maybe they can do a bit of research before-hand to try find something that they’ve never heard before.

From my experience, my younger siblings sometimes say what I know that I or another one of my siblings have said in previous years, but we make them feel as if it’s the first time that we’ve heard it 🙂

Make sure that you know lots of interesting stories that relate to the actual story of Pesach and the Yetziya.

Have nice little Divrei Torah scattered about.

Let the kids say what they learnt in school, and delve into it to show that you really care about what they’re saying.

If they’re the type who like these discussions, don’t try to rush them on…

IMHO, that’s how a great Seder works.

    Pesach’s the best! 🙂

Uhh… Both are scary. Truthfully, I ate something on Pesach and only after looked at the hechsher- to see that I couldnt find ‘kosher l’Pesach’ anywhere! I was so worried, I can assure you I felt like I was about to faint. Luckily I turned over the package and saw that on the other side it said kosher l’Pesach. I uncovered this post in an effort to post my question on a page that slightly resembles the opening question…

Talking abt BlackBerry apps… More on the “un-tech savvy” note, does anyone know how its possible to download apps onto a BlackBerry without going on the device’s Internet Browser? I checked for Jewish apps on BlackBerry App World, and there weren’t any that I could find. Then, my friend told me a site (that I see was posted earlier on this page), but I can’t go on the Internet to get them.

Any way to do it thru the computer?

Also, back to the opening question; does anyone know any good Kosher apps?

    Thanks,

    – BasYisroel94

I always wondered the lyrics to that song as well! But I was really talking abt a diff song, called “Beep, Beep” Its got 1 sentence in Yiddish, the last, and I’m sure that’s the punchline for the whole song – d’ya know what the words are, and what they mean? Thanks am yisrael chai!

K, so I spoke to the person who told me the secret in the 1st place, and it just so happens that she said she was planning on telling that person soon anyways (as in before the surprise itself happens..), so alls good BH 🙂

adorable~ I’m not sure what sort of secret you’re talking abt- is it that they’ll eventually find out because it’s an event, or because word travels fast?

If it’s an event, what’s the issue? How will they ever know that everyone else knew? and if it’s a secret that just gets passed thru word of mouth, well, that just depends on what the actual secret is, then…

ilovepopcorn~ so, you got me; you figured it out. Why you asking? 😉

m in Israel~ I’ve done ‘damage control’ and BH the person understands that I didn’t realise it was a surprise, and she said she hasn’t passed on the info, and will not 🙂

But, I think that I’ll let the person with a secret think that she’s really surprising everyone- I wouldn’t want her to be upset. Is this the wrong thing to do?

    Message to all~

Although it may surprise some of you, (espesh bpt) I’m not 94!

    K, take a HUUUGE breath.

Now that you have recovered from that piece of tremendously unbelievable information…

I’m not talking abt a birth or an engagement, but something much smaller; this friend of mine just wanted to keep the secret ’till it happened.

Should I just go back to the person who I discussed it with, and tell her not to pass on the info to anyone, and to act surprised to the ‘surpriser’ when it happens? And should I should tell the girl with the secret that I told someone, or let her think that she’s surprising that girl (along with everyone else who will be surprised?) which would probably make her happy – Did you follow that?

observanteen~ I didn’t realise that it was a secret, until I spilled the beans. Otherwise I wouldn’t have said a word! It was more like, I was just excitingly discussing what was gonna happen with a friend, until I realised.

m in Israel~ Is it considered revealing a confidence, if I didn’t know that she wanted to keep it a secret? It isn’t something that I’d assume would be a secret- but I guess I was wrong…

Any other suggestions on what I should do?

And, was it really truly to speak about it to others, should I have asked her ‘is it a secret/ surprise’?

    Thanks!

always here~ Haha, that was a funny one! 🙂

Here’s the thing, I actually wrote the question asking for the lyrics while I was in the middle of watching the clip (I paused the video to ask…) and then, when I saw that there WAS English in the song, I quickly (tried to) delete my comment by clicking ‘edit’ which didn’t allow to delete, but I could make it blank; because I thought that the English was a translation of the Yiddish. (And because I thought that the Mods delete blank posts- I guess not…) Then when I went back to check the lyrics again, from the small amount that I understood, I realised that it wasn’t the same, so I re-posted my question 🙂

Btw, I watched the clip from “The Japan Song” site as well, but the ‘lyrics’ tab had no translation. Must be a program on your computer…

Either way, I typed it into google translate, although that wasn’t such accurate translation (made little sense)

So, anyone who knows the translation, I’d appreciate it! Thanks! 🙂

So, I started reading ahead, and it just gets more confusing!

If said in the prescence of 3, we can assume that it’s positive and therefore not L”H?

3ppl are already a public forum and therefore no harm bc it’s gonna be publicised anyway?

It makes no sense to me… Should I just forget the Rambam’s heter of api tlasa, or should I try to understand?

TBT- If actually buying a lottery ticket is part of the plan, I might find the former first 🙂

Though, I seriously dont get what api tlasa is. If it’s all that you can say it bc it’s sure to get back to the person it’s about if it’s in the prescence of 3 and yadayada, I thought that it’s forbidden to say L”H even if you dont care what the person it’s about will say…

Btw, do you know the 11 or so conditions offhand? I’m interested to know what they are. Thanks! 🙂
