Please don’t get upset with me. I certainly understand where you are coming from. I am one of those who uses the phone siddur. My phone siddur happens to have extra prayers that regular siddurim don’t have. It also has English Translations. I use my phone siddur (at least for the Amidah, because of the extra optional prayers and english translations). During Shaharit, I will use a traditional siddur for everything except the Amidah and Tachanun.

I am not perfect, and sometimes I do wish that when the siddur app is open, the rest of the phone would be disabled. All in all, its more good than bad for me (I hope).

Arrived via PATH to WTC at 8:25am. Sat down at my desk across the street from WTC ( 1 Liberty Plaza ) at about 8:35am. I was the first to the window overlooking WTC after the “boom”. I remember the look of terror on each of my colleague’s faces as they got to the window and saw the North Tower. Our building was (at first voluntarily ) evacuated. Everyone was on the street looking up at the bodies falling to the street. I headed for the subway (to go to family in brooklyn as I felt getting back to NJ would be impossible) and was going down the steps near Chase Plaza Wall St 2/3 station as the second plane hit. I was telling folks coming up the subway steps to go back home. They looked at me like I was a lunatic and practically pushed me out of the way. I’m almost shaking as I’m typing this.

Speaking from experience – Go to a nutritionist. I went to one and lost 35 lbs in 3 1/2 months. They know what works and what doesn’t. They are trained professionals that make sure your body is getting what it needs while at the same time, losing weight. It’s only (slightly) difficult the first couple of weeks, once you see the weight dropping, that is motivation to keep it up. + you are more likely to keep it off when you are done.

I had lost my voice for a long period of time. When I went to my Dr, he said that there are prescriptions that can help, but he doesn’t recommend them, unless absolutely necessary. IE, If I was a professional singer and the consert was tomorrow, there are prescription medications that can help. Since I’m not a professional singer and am against unnecessary medications, I didn’t inquire further.

Oxalate or Calcium are the likely compositions of the stones. If Oxalate – some Dr’s will tell you to go on a low oxalate diet. Others will tell you that your oxalate intake won’t make a difference.

I’ve had 3 of them over the course of many years. The fact that I’ve had 3 doesn’t make me good at preventing them. I will tell you that I didn’t drink a lot of water and that my diet was not the best. If these things happen to me every 10 – 15 years, I can’t really tell you that I’ve prevented them by increasing my water intake and modifying my diet, until many years pass. In my experience, I was in excruciating pain for about 4 hours each time, and B”H was able to pass them after that. Best thing to do is to go to the emergency room and they will give you morphine (which will eliminate/greatly reduce the pain) until it passes, and give you intravenous liquids that speed the passing.

One of these Days, our scientists in Israel will come up with a way to implant a tracking device in these monsters so tiny that they won’t know about it. Then when they are freed, they can be tracked, and they’ll just go and recapture them. I can’t wait for that day.

Star-k has a listing of appliances, including some refridgerators that have “Sabbath Mode”, you do have to remember to enable it before Shabbos: http://www.star-k.org/cons-appl.htm. There are also some guidelines about purchasing fridges here: http://www.star-k.org/cons-appl-advice.htm#refrigerators. Even with all of this, you should consult your Rav before your purchase.

In an ideal world, I’d get both. The real one is so important to your Kallah, and we men just can never understand that. The fake one (an exact replica of the real one) is great, because she can actually wear it (instead of putting it in the vault) without worrying that she’s going to lose/ruin something that her Chosson just spent several year’s savings on. Remember to put a marking on the inside of the ring, so you don’t get them mixed up 🙂

I am also interested in hearing about this topic. The one thing I found is that the rates differ (for the American companies at least) based on whether you book on the US website (ie: http://www.avis.com) vs the israeli website (ie http://www.avis.co.il). With the israeli site being cheaper (for the 1 or 2 times I checked). I think you will do better calling the Israeli phone numbers vs calling the US phone numbers. two years ago, Avis gave me Shabbos for free because I told them I was shomer shabbos. The office in Jerusalem (Kind David) gave me Shabbos free, the next year I picked the car up at Ben Gurion, and they wouldn’t give me shabbos free.

I just redeemed continental miles for a flight on USAIR from philadelphia to Israel using Continental Airlines website. I would expect that you can accomplish what you want by either AA’s website, or calling AA on the phone.

    Look here: http://www.star-k.org/cons-appl-ge-ovenprods.htm

Look at the part of your model number that doesn’t include the color: PGB908. It is listed as star-k certified.
