I noticed something interesting on all of these Chabad threads whenever someone wants to point out the great relationship that the Lubavitcher Rebbe had with other gedolim. It is always the other gadol that is saying something nice about his relationship with the rebbe. And it is almost always in some KHT publication. It is also always that the other gadol visited Crown Heights. How come you never see the rebbe saying anything nice about any of Klal Yisroel’s recognized gedolim? And how come he never visited any of them? If it is true that “we see the tremendous respect each of these Gedolim had for each other,” why do we never see the reciprocity?

First story is true in essence, but the setup and punch lines are inaccurate. Person speaking was Rav Chaim Zimmerman ZT”L.
Second story, someone already pointed out, is a Pepsi commercial.

Don’t know for sure, but I would assume the Shoifech domim is the one most responsible for Torah in America since WWII. One of the biggest and worst bilbullim that they say (although they try to hide it sometimes) is to blame him for discriminating against their anash during the war. The way they refer to him, even if there was noting else controversial about them, (and there is plenty, see 440 prior posts) would be enough to write their hashkafa right out of the Torah world.

Not a segula. But the Possuk says Uvchanuni na b’zos. Chazal darshan that this in one place where one is permitted to ‘test’ Hashem. Aser T’aser – Aser bishvil shetis’asher.

I believe a fair amount of the problem is that we have 50% of the girls being told they have to marry the top 10% of the boys.

The Orev is the only one in Chazal (that I’m aware of) that expressed concern over extinction of a species. Sanhedrin 108b

The species he was concerned with was his own, so he may have been a bit nogeia b’davar.

The last day of 11 months is special as the avel traditionally relinquishes the zechus for the 12th month as a sign of kibud av v’em. He does this as a sign of respect for his parents. Mishpat reshaim is 12 months and if one says for 12 months one is kind of insinuating that the parents is undergoing mishpat reshaim. Some sephardim take off the first week of the 12th month to show respect for this concern, and then resume for the balance of the month. Either way, the rest of the aveilim then show hakaras hatov to the avel for ceding the amud for the month so they give him the day. This gives him priority over all other 11 month avelim. Yahrtzeits and shloshims would still get priority as they gain nothing from him ceding the last month, they’re ahead of him on the pecking order anyway.

    Shloshim comes before yahrtzeit

Everyone is entitled to have standards. But for the organization that prides itself on accepting everyone to have a clearly defined and labeled class system, which there definitely is as you pretty much admitted, whether it is observed 100% or not, that smells to me of hypocrisy.

The very fact that such a classification has a name tells you that they are not as welcoming and accepting as they want you to think. I am nor aware of any other group of chassidim or litvaks for that matter, that have first and second class so clearly defined that there is a name for it.

I’ve heard stories from multi generational Lubavitchers, and how they are treated as second class in shidduchim, because they haven’t earned Gesze status. The message is clearly, put on our tefillin, drink our lechaims. send us your checks. But don’t dare think about marrying my child.

For those unaware of the definition of the term Joseph used, Geszhe, let me define.

Geszhe is a caste system used in shidduchim through which Lubavitchers demonstrate in action what they really feel about all those baalei teshuva of whom they claim to be so proud.
