Well assuming that i wouldn’t have been too serious in telling someone to throw water at me than yes! Say, don’t come to near, the fireworks may begin!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #981053

Sweettooth – i wish!!!! Maybe i’ll go so skinny la la la , well you never know i guess .. Weather the Storm – hey, i like that sentence. PLEASE LETS TRY TO! They say it gets easier to diet but IT’S SO HARD TO!!!!!! Well thankfully i’ve been seeing some sort of good numbers at times..

Good Chodesh Everyone! May it be an inspiring month, full of joy – to the kallah’s and the rest!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #981051

Wow YoelYitzchak sounds amazing! Keep telling more examples! i love them!

So i’ll to be your “google search” … The neshoma of a jew nowadays is said to have been in the world before and didn’t fulfil its purpose and therefore has to come down again to correct that fault before being able to go back and get olam haba. The term gilgel is used to say what the neshoma was before.. Sweettooth was joking that this dog could be a gilgel, meaning that he’s been in the world before and has to come back down as a dog this time to fulfil whatever it is… Don’t believe it, although the concept is real there’s a lot of “must be gilgel – must be gilgel” around too..

Sweettooth, how’s the dieting?! Bride or no bride – s have to diet too!!!! Lets see who can lose more first … whose joining!

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167238

Glad to hear too blabla! You write so well, keep expressing yourself in this way! Keep going, you can do it!

WOW Observantteen! You write so well.. you convey so much feeling and yes, having been through so much and coming out better and stronger.. i hope we all manage to do that!

    Have a good shabbos!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #981040

Amazing how much you can miss in just a few days!

WELCOME YoelYitzchak! A new member to join the clan 😉 i hope you’ll gain from here and we’ll gain from you like it seems already!

i’ve read about the dog, but haven’t actually heard anybody who has it… Cool!! Sounds like you enjoy it! It always works?!

i like the idea of using the Rav’s room for privacy too… if it can work! It’s difficult to have to eat .. there’s lots and lots of people who do eat, even on yom kipper.. dx3, i like the way you go about it!

Cofee and metooo, interesting about the bites, wonder if it is related… lmk if you find out it is!!

Cofee, you’re swimming story sounds so scary! Glad you’re past now!!

Talking of meters, i always used to use the onetouch – i even have the long and thin different colour ones .. now i use the freesytle lite – it takes a TINY amount of blood in comparison!

Guess what?! bh these past few days i’ve been trying really super hard, and beside seeing that my insulin amounts of def. incorrect… i’ve been seeing some good results too!!!!!!!! Whoa!!!!!

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167233

Hey obervanteen, thanks for your comments here and there! It’s always nice to get feedback.. so thanks! sorry only replying now, just been busy here.

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167231

Thanks observanteen! Well for now i’ve posted this, guess it’s not too personal.. there’s always a first time and there’s always a last! Do you read the other threads? i posted a poem i wrote on another thread for those of ya interested.. .

in reply to: Unsent Letters #824741

Hey thanks obsevanteen, you sound like somebody i’d love to meet too!

You’re letter is so beautifully written.. it conveys so much! Sometimes it’s hard to feel that people do understand somewhat – but you’ve done a great job showing that you do ? May G-d send his light down to everybody quick!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #981024

    You miss them metooo?!?

Great to see ya back rebbitzen, stick around ? Don’t worry about fasting – you do what you’re told to do!!

Cofee, does sound interesting that you’ve been told to disconnect entirely.. the body takes times to work!

Thanks for the compliments! Keep ’em coming ? jk

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #981018

    cofeefan’s ##s were great today!!

Lets get together and shout HORRAY!!

What a pleasure, what a delight,

May it always stay so right!

For you, and all of us who share,

    Whether through cyber or elsewhere!

Let us pray and hope that i too,

Will be part of that group of you!

    Because taking insulin = weight,

A situation which calls for hate,

Omission – in their a choice at all?

    Princess!! Don’t let yourself fall!!

in reply to: Unsent Letters #824739

observanteen, your letter was so touching, what a great idea for a thread!

    Miritchte, that’s a moving letter..

Talking of being careful what you put on paper – i once wrote something very personal and a very close friend got to see it .. she was terrified! But still i find it a great way to express oneself and do it all the time..

i wrote this to a friend.. May G-d have mercy ..

    Chaya,

I’m writing on paper to you, words that i could never say to you, or let you know.

    Chaya,

Where are you? What’s happening to you? How i wish for your happiness! How i wish for your pain to go, for you not to feel so alone, so unbearabley alone.

I watch from afar, i know you’re struggling. I know that life is a constant battle, a constant fight. And i know you are strong. You are strong and you can win. If only you will continue to fight.

I understand, i understand without really understanding anything at all.

The whirlpool is confusing, it’s so overwhelming, it’s taken it’s wings and spread itself over you.

I know that you feel you are under.

And that you have no address, nobody to turn to..

The only real Address is beyond your grip at the moment. You don’t see, you cannot see how you can possibly turn to G-d at all. Yiddishkeit is only a side issue for you.

And so you continue to struggle, to battle the tides of confusion and pain, to face day to day life in a world that has gone against you, where those you love most have hurt you the most. I wish i could speak to your parents, to beg them to understand you and believe you, to believe in you!

Chaya, i know you have the strength to fight. You have questions, you have doubts – but above all, is the pain. i know you have it hard to express yourself, you always have. You’ve come along way since those days we used to spend together. You understood me in a way that many people don’t and didn’t.

I don’t know if you’re still hoping, Chaya, and i know that you don’t care to know – but i will still hope for you. And i will do the one thing that will help you – i will pray to G-d to have mercy on you, to show you a way out of the pain and lead you to have some connection with him..

    With love,

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #981014

Rebbitzen! It’s page 35 – are you around to welcome it for us??!! It’s waiting for ya!! (at least now maybe come say hi to us !! )

Cofeefan, i’m so sorry for how it worked out! It must have been so difficult! What are your ##s like today? Any better? Try not to worry too much because the body always reacts something by a fast!

Talking of being high and thirsty – i’m sorry.. i know what that’s like.. i called my rav before the fast and i asked him if i can break it if i’m thirsty because i’m high.. he made sure my doctor allows me to fast, and he knows about all this because he has type2, and said to me (if you’re high – TAKE INSULIN!!)

Zen – i think Metooo was saying that she TOOK so little on tisha b’av once her basal was reduced so much for the fast. Also, i think type2 will take much more basal… having said that, i’m on a really lot of basal and it bothers me lots!!!!!!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #981008

Hey, yeah, how did it go?! Sweettooth, did the “prep” help..

Here i was mostly okay, for some reason i didn’t have to reduce my basal at all! Whilst last time i had to most of the time.. But than after the fast was over i went shooting ALL the way up..

Metooo – what happens is that normally the body is constantly breaking down the sugar for energy and that is why we need a basal. Then when we fast the body is, like – hold it! i can’t break down the sugar, i need to hold on to it! And so as the fast continues and the body is still getting no food it stops breaking down the sugar, and consequently will need less and less basal..

You only take .80?? i’m on so much more insulin…;(

in reply to: Watch Online for Tisha B'av #888114

Hey – thanks so much! Ohr naava seems to cost?

Do you have a link for the project inspire one (and any others?) really appreciated, ta!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #981005

Yeah, Zen so can you understand that people would do in especially!!

Yes, i say kudos again – hats off to you – very impressive! May we all manage to do what you did….

Sweettooth, interesting to hear that about eating meat. Well, you asked and you got an answer!

How did it go for you dx3 and coffee and the rest of you?

    i’m completely losing it again.

And now for the this fast.. whose fasting?! Hands up 😉 jk.

May it be a meaningful day either ways and let us mourn that we cannot mourn..

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #981000

Cofee – lol, i like that line of suffering in the 9 days, although it does say you’re life comes first.. i’m sorry about your numbers and dx3 too, just hang in there, shabbos will be like normal and then there’s just 2/3 more days..

Zen3344 – are you knew here? Welcome (to this thread anyway!) Have you been following here for some time or only recently?

Were you ever in hospital with the ketones? It’s possible that some people purposely make themselves have ketones for the exact reason that you saw yourself (losing weight). Yes, it does mean you’re A1c goes high and you feel irritable. It’s very impressive how you have managed to get your A1c so far down and your life back in control, kudos!

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167202

Blabla, how are you doing today?

Observantteen, i have to thank you for the idea you mentioned to blabla – more like a reminder – to write a letter to G-d. i tried it and bH he let me express myself after a while… so thanks for the idea!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980994

Dx3 – you’re talking about sweettooth’s story? Things are never the way it seems!

in reply to: Just need to share this!!! #797526

    Mazel tov!

be good, i waiting for s1 to say that! i’ll second you there… when my aunt got engaged after a few years of waiting and countless times of saying shir hashirim, lighting candles and lots of other segulas – she said, def. the segulas all helped, but in the end there was the right time. And btw she couldn’t have met him any earlier, he wasn’t available yet..

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167188

MiddlePath, this is so good, i’d love to hear it with the music .. ok after the 9 days are over.

Blabla – kol yisroel areivim, we’re in this together. Beside, you write so well that your pain and desperation is conveyed so clearly that’s it’d be very hard NOT to feel along with you, in some way. i’m so so sorry for your pain. Just hold on a little longer.. a little tighter.. we are all here for ya and rooting for ya, and G-d is too. Maybe after a while the shock will “wear off” a little and you’ll be able to deal with it better / get help for it.

Observantteen, i hear the point! If it’s something very personal i’m more comfortable to share with people i don’t know, but then again, it usually stays right here with me. Posting on here is also a prob bc once it’s up you can’t delete it… i don’t think i’ve posted any writings on here (yet?)..

It’s difficult though not to be able to express yourself in the one way you can bc the feelings are so many and confusing!

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167184

Yes, observanteen, thanks! i love poetry too but i don’t really feel so comfortable to post it so publicly here. i like to write and i do alot, but sometimes it’s hard when there’s lots of turning emotions.. When you say “here” you mean on this thread or in general “here” as cr?

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167182

I Can Only Try – WOW!! That’s really something!

Observanteen, glad to see ya back here 😉 you put it well and you speak such sense.

Blabla, i’m so sorry for your pain. i can only hope and pray that G-d will show you a light right away. Don’t do anything dangerous, pls pls pls. I know it’s hard but you’re strong and you can do it.

CallmeDave – like usual, you’ve written a wonderful piece! i esp like how all 4 lines rhyme – keep it up!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980991

That’s a good point dx3.. though you do hear these stories, statistics wise such stories must happen.

Tralala your article was indeed great!! idk, didn’t find this article in family first say so much really, although you have a point sweettooth on that point of disease and medical condition! Cofee, dare you to read it, (just bc i wanna hear your opinion ;)) reb, alls, forever1, tralala – what do you say! i didn’t like it bc i don’t like everybody reading about it.. esp. the pump – when nobody knows about it, they aren’t gonna suspect anything, but once reading about it they can already suspect!

Talking of the pump – one of the kids i teach pointed to my pump which was on my slip on my skirt, “i know where you keep your cell phone!!” and i watched my co-worker move her to glance in that direction…!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980987

Cofee, i know what you mean about not liking to read such articles! So you left it for your sis to read!? i was actually quite impressed with how it was written, although i can’t say i like the fact that it’s written in such a public mag.! So metooo what did you come up with that you wanted to correct?!

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167170

CallmeDave – i like the messages you come up with, you put it down well.

AYC, why, thanks! You’re very good yourself 😉 you always have such nice n positive things to say!

Blabla, you’re words express such depth and emotions. It conveys it so well! i know it’s hard, almost impossible – but it’s NOT IMPOSSIBLE! Hold on tight, it WILL get easier. You’re strong, YOU CAN DO IT! Yes, even in a crazy, cruel and bitter world.

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980981

dx3 “You may loose weight by having ketones but I think there is a better way…..” idk about that… cute one of the label! There’s one i got where you have somebody standing on the scale .. upside down “aha, now i figured out how to weigh myself” . whatever.

    GOOD SHABBOS EVERYONE!!!!!!!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980975

alls – you said maybe you’re not diabetic bc you’ve never had ketones since you were diagnosed.. so if you try out to see if you do indeed not have it – like not take insulin bc you’re not diabetic – then you will have ketones 😉 (and then you’ll lose weight;) maybe it’s worth it)

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980971

If you go try to test out if you do or don’t have it indeed – then you will have ketones and can be “rediagnosed”!!!!! it may be worth it if you wanna lose weight;)

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980969

Losing weight… it’s an impossible thing to do!! Dx3, “The past yom kippurs I did the whole thing but I felt the ketones after.” – talk of ketones. It’s all impossible!!!!

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167160

hey sasson, that’s really excellent! Very good msg. blabla, i know it’s hard but pls pls keep strong, you can do it! you can do it!

in reply to: Feel like no one cares! #788724

Yes i’ll second that… it can be very frustrating just watching your friend hurt and not sure how to help.. It’s def. frustrating on the other side (yours) too.. i hope it just gets easier!! Quickly!!

And they prob do care although obviously not to the deep extent you feel. Think of it how you care for them and are hurt for their hurt.

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167127

Minyan Gal, you’re words were so strong and displays so much strength. May there be a light for all of us.

CallmeDave – wow, what a powerful lesson. It’s written well and it hurts to read! Yes, may it indeed be the last time the last time we experience such a tragedy.

Blabla, keep climbing! Keep going strong. May G-d finally release you and all of us from being a prisoner of the mind.

AMC – it’s so nice that you’re commenting so warmly.. i’m almost inclined to post some writing just for your comments 😉

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980965

Tralala that’s GREAT!!!!! Like cofeefan says – be very proud!! HOW DID YOU DO IT???????

in reply to: Eating disorders… #795750

The feelings of doing all these funny things is thrill, escape, denial, and it feels so worth it and the pull is so strong, although logically – know so well it’s not worth it. 🙁 ;( 🙁

Don’t do it. It’s not real control (i think). Stay strong, hold on tight!!!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980963

Whoa!!! We’re doing great!!! Page 34 – way to go 😉

rebbitzen – no way should you feel guilty! Lots of people don’t do the fasts, for me i asked my dr and checked with my rav.. fasts affect everybody differently regardless of D ..

And btw i think fwd do say only to fast yom kipper (and tisha b’av?) !

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980959

That 45 was a one off!! And it was a few years back!! When i was bas mitzvah age and wanted to fast, i explained that to my Dr who didn’t know many yidden and tried to help as much as he could so he let me fast and gave me the guidelines. (of course i knew i’d have to break it if nec..) i kept a real close watch testing every few minutes to see if i was yet going higher.. i shouldn’t have done that..

These fasts i test often etc and like i said, it’s these days that i actually have good ##s. And i’ve not fasted all of them, when i didn’t on tisha b’av it was the hardest.. After the fast i make sure to cover really plenty and bh i was a decent number by morning;)

The thing is i didn’t like to touch my basal which i had to do in order to keep fasting..

Tralala, mind to translate what you said in yiddish?!! Lol

Cofee, how’s your burn? Metooo, guess you’ve not done swimming yet..

in reply to: Eating disorders… #795740

Like i’ve said, i understand.. yup, the depression is big too..

    Happiest, blabla wrote,

“btw 90-95% of anorexics are girls (I did some research)

and hugs-its kinda scary that you’re fasting ;)”

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167115

Blabla, you’re right of course about the tanis.. it’s so much “just about fasting” rather than thought to the day!

The piece before this – all i can do is offer you some sympathy.. i really do understand! Hold on tight.. don’t let go!! May Hashem finally show the light in the darkness.

in reply to: saying HI :) #791000

    Hi right Back… Welcome! ??

in reply to: Eating disorders… #795720

    Hugs?!!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980953

Yay Cofee, i’m so glad to hear that!!! i hope it has an immediate and complete recovery!!

About fasting versus not fasting – of course i know what you’re talking about! i’m like, will i make it to the end of the fast.. and there’s been times – including tisha b’av when i couldn’t fast.. (like the way you put it: “youre JOKING right?!?!” lol, right!!) Somebody once pointed out to me that the mitzvah is not to eat, so even if you are eating when you have to – when you’re not eating it’s still “fasting” … well not exactly but at least it sounds good 😉

The point about testing basal’s – well i also used to think that until somebody pointed out to me – i think it was Rabbi Meisals – that when you fast, as the day goes on you’re body needs less insulin because you’re fasting. Maybe because you’re not eating the body keeps the food and doesn’t break down the sugar..

If the numbers are good i see no reason why i shouldn’t fast.. on the contrary, when i eat i go so high, it’s the fasts when i actually have good numbers! i’ve checked it out with a Rav and my dr. and they both agree.

Talking of how low you let it go – one fast some years back before i even was on multiple injections, i let it go down to a 45 because i knew i’d start going up soon.. which did happen! My Dr at the time (changed since) blew a fit over it!! (yup, i understand it;))

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980951

Cofeefan, how’s the sunburn? I just wish it better! Dx3, how’s the numbers? Any better? Did you get the other article – it wasn’t printed, it was edited and then printed 😉

Metooo – welcome back here!! Let us know how the swimming works!

Fasting – i knew s1 would have asked that questions! Soo, what are you all doing?? Metooo you just asked it, you didn’t answer it!

I started the day at 180 and gone down from there.. i’m on temp. basal, is this a bad idea?????

Lots of Luck to all of us fasting (and all of us not;))!!!!!!!

in reply to: How could G-d do this #786817

Excellent points on ????? bought up..

And BTW when i started the thread it was meant to share some thought on how to understand how Hashem could do this / let this happen if the question did bother you!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980943

Lol! What’s happening to this place?! i look along the threads to find this one – almost given up.. These past times though i felt a little guilty to talk here whilst the main convo was about one little boy…

How’s all your numbers been? Tralala, so glad to see you here!! i still want to know the details btw… like how you managed to get through everything in the end.. sometimes i wonder if it’s ever possible. Here my ##s have been out of wack completely and i’m already taking more insulin than i used to be. How can i take any more? It’s almost like the battle of messing about versus takingggggg..

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980939

Dx3 did it work? Cofee, how’s those ##s these days?

Metoo, do you have my email address? Go back a few pages to page28 to find it.

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980932

Hey hey, people, you gone to sleep again?????? Some people need ya around here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in reply to: ATT POETRY PEOPLE #1167101

blabla you words are so hurt felt!! Ayc your response beautiful. Blabla, speaking from experience, i understand how you feel and i only hope that the dark days will be over very quickly.. Hold on!! Be strong!!

in reply to: Diabetes Support Group #980931

Cofee, i’m so sorry about your numbers!! It’s often erratic in the hols though, you’re out of routine!! i rem. by pesach going mad together with a friend on our numbers… i really do hope you’ll figure s/t out, rem. just try your best!!!

Tralala, i luv that you’re up on here – stay around even after everybody tells you how amazing your article is!!! Did you all read it yet???

i just made icecream for shabbos!! It’s a good kind…but i’m paying for it… these days i’m finding myself paying for this type of thing far too often….

Good Shabbos!!! Have a good n happy one everybody!!

in reply to: Goodbye 2 all my CR "FRENZ"!!! #783479
