Kol Berama Host Fired for Disparaging Comment Against Dati Leumi Rabbonim

Kol Berama Radio in Israel has fired Rabbi Avraham Tamir for his disparaging remarks against Zionist rabbonim. Tamir referred to the dati-leumi community as “a cancer in the body of yiddishkheit”, adding the rabbonim of the dati leumi tzibur are “criminals”.

Tamir did not stop there, but also singled out some rabbonim, including Rabbi David Stav, who serves as a spokesman for the Hesder Yeshivot and a rosh yeshiva himself for his remarks calling on the chareidi tzibur to serve in the IDF. Tamir labeled Rabbi Stav a “fool” along with Rabbi Eliezer Melamed, a leading figure in the dati leumi community.

After the station received a letter of complaint from an official in the Bayit HaYehudi Party, it acted, announcing Tamir was being fired for his derogatory comments and an apology was made to Rabbi Stav.
