Russian Company Releases Line of Kosher Sweets

russan candy.jpgThe ‘Kolomenskoye’ confectionery factory, which is based in Moscow, has produced a line of sweets under the Kashrus supervision of the Chief Rabbinate of Russia headed by Rabbi Berel Lazar.

Numbering among the top businesses in Moscow’s food industry, this company has its own modern laboratory that answers for questions of control and quality of both the raw ingredients it uses and the final products. It has been recognized, both within Russia, in the CIS and even at exhibitions and competitions further abroad for its quality goods.

This latest line of products to have received kosher certification was produced two weeks in advance of Purim, making this holiday even more eventful since it makes ideal mishloach manos. These delights, which include waffle cookies and two separate types of cakes, have certainly brought a smile to many faces this past weekend.

The Kashrus Department of the Chief Rabbinate of Russia guarantees the kosher element of those company products bearing the label indicating it kosherness. These products are considered to be ‘parve’, meaning that these treats may be eaten at any time and contain no lactose or meat products.
