Report Shows Highest Anti-Semitism Rates In Decades

ktj.jpgThe number of anti-Semitic attacks around the world during Israel’s three-week military operation against Hamas in Gaza was up more than 300 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching a two-decade high, according to a report released Sunday.

A total of 250 anti-Semitic acts were recorded around the world in January 2009, a dramatic increase from the 80 incidents recorded during the same period last year.

The annual report by the Global Forum Against Anti-Semitism also cited the “conspicuous” comparisons being made between Israel’s actions against Hamas in Gaza and those of Nazi Germany during the Holocaust.

According to the Jewish Agency, the increased animosity was directly related to Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip. The global financial crisis may have been a contributing factor as well, the report suggested.

Jewish Agency Treasurer Hagai Meirom predicted a fresh wave of global anti-Semitism in the wake of Operation Cast Lead – even though the report notes a drop in incidents since the end of the operation – and stressed that additional resources need to be provided to effectively respond to these attacks worldwide.

  1. And what is going on in Israel? Does anyone know? No! Why not?, Because although Hamas is not, or has not honored a cease fire, it’s not news that these animals cannot keep their word! So, Olmert makes a promise, and he can’t keep his word either!

YW, Why have you taken down the “breaking war news” coverage!? Don’t you think that Israel is still at war with Hamas?
