Rosh Yeshiva: Lock Up Price Tag Hoodlums

The recent ‘price tag’ attack presumably carried out by Jews against an IDF command base near Beit El has resulted in widespread condemnation from settlement leaders and rabbonim affiliated with the dati leumi community. Joining that list is HaGaon HaRav Aaron Lichtenstein Shlita and Rabbi Yaakov Medan, a rosh yeshiva in Yeshivat Har Etzion in Gush Etzion.

Rabbi Medan is calling upon the residents and leaders of communities throughout Yehuda and Shomron to assist in apprehending those responsible for reprehensible attacks against IDF property.

“We detest such actions in the name of ‘price tag’ against mosques and innocent Arabs”, the rabbonim state in their joint letter. “Such actions are totally unacceptable from a moral and nationalistic point of view, and they endanger the general population of yishuvim throughout Yehuda and Shomron”.

The rabbonim express their support for ongoing IDF efforts to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice, calling upon residents to everything they can to prevent additional attacks in the future.

In an interview with Arutz-7, Rabbi Medan called upon residents to hand those responsible over to community security officers and the IDF, not Israel Police, stating after the events at Migron, there is no longer a desire to cooperate with police until they signal they are penitent and willing to change their ways.
