Government Probes Feasibility of Bnei Brak Employment Office

The Ministry of Industry & Trade and the Bnei Brak municipality are working together over the next month towards evaluating the possibility of establishing an employment office in the city towards encouraging and assisting area residents to join the workforce.

Minister of Industry & Trade (HaAtzma’ut) Shalom Simchon and Mayor Rav Yaakov Asher are working together towards facilitating the employment process for city residents. The two took part in the opening of a new employment training facility on Yarden Street in the city, part of City Hall’s ongoing effort to find suitable employment for residents as well as expanding city services to residents, while continuing to maintain a balance municipal budget.

Simchon explains that from his point of view, he does not feel it is the ministry’s place to interfere or dictate policy to the chareidi community, but his office remains ready and willing to assist in cases where the assistance is accepted, as is the case in Bnei Brak. He adds that City Hall is a partner in the process, every step of the way, towards developing programs that are in line with the lifestyle and needs of the local community.
