Report: PM Calls To Divide Beit Shemesh

A statement quoted in the daily Yediot Achronot attributed to Prime Minister Netanyahu on Wednesday, December 28th, has been received with a measure of surprise by the political left and right-wing. The prime minister is quoted as calling to divide Beit Shemesh over the ongoing racial controversy between the various religious streams.

The statements attributed to Mr. Netanyahu were reportedly made during a closed meeting as the participants discussed ways to resolve the conflict in Beit Shemesh, during which the prime minister reportedly suggested cutting the city into two, dividing it between chareidim and the secularists.

  1. Maybe Bibi would like to give these nuts the parts of Yerushalayim that he wants to put under arab control. That should make them happy.

  2. The last sentence of the first paragraph of this article reads: “The prime minister is quoted as calling to divide Beit Shemesh over the ongoing racial controversy between the various religious streams.”

When did disputes between “various religious streams” of Jews become an “ongoing racial controversy”?

  3. He happens to be right on target, the population in Bet Shemesh is currently divided, the frum, seculars and MO live in separate quarters, this may help to stop the provocations frum the anti charedim thats going on for months, and no one would be spat at..

  4. will never happen, not too many secularists left in beit shemesh, and those that are still here, live far away from the Bet section of chareidim where the incidents happened (so basically the city is divided already)

  5. Why is this such a bad idea. It will protect the chareidim from all the chareidi bashers and all the pritzus. Please implement the plan Bibi.
