The levaya for eight the sifrei torah destroyed in the erev Shavuos fire in the Eitz Chaim Shul in Kiryat Ono will take place today, Thursday. The levaya is set to begin at 4:00pm at the site of the fire, the shul, at which time an atzeres hisorarus will be held.
HaGaon HaRav Ratzon Aruzi is expected to lead the event. The chief rabbis are also expected to be in attendance.
The cause of the blaze appears to have been an electrical short circuit.

This is the second time such an incident occurred, the first in the Vizhnitz Aron Kodesh in Bnei Brak.
I think it is high time shuls stop storing their Sifrei Torah in the same box as the breaker box.
