Fatah And Hamas Agree To Delay Gaza Takeover

Both Fatah and Hamas agreed on Thursday, 12 Kislev, to delay handover of power in Gaza to Fatah until December 10th. Officials involved in the handover of authority explain the additional time is required to organize as required.

Part of the agreement is that Fatah, which controls the PA (Palestinian Authority), lift all sanctions, including funding of salaries for Gaza employees. There is question to date who will pay between 40,000 and 50,000 Hamas employees for November.

As they realize too many issues remain unresolved, it was decided that the December 1st deadline for the handover of authority was simply unrealistic at this juncture.
