They all sit down together every day for an in-depth Gemara class with the Rosh Kolel of Moscow, Rabbi Y.Y. Marzel; businessmen, avreichim, and Chabad Shluchim. And now, when they have merited to complete Maseches Ksubos, they celebrated together with a grand siyum-farbrengen in Moscow’s central Marina Roscha Shul where the classes took place. Many additional Torah classes, as well as gemara, halacha and chassidus classes take place there as well, thanks to the dedicated organizers of Moscow’s “Center for Torah Classes” which was founded with the blessings of Chief Rabbi of Russia Rabbi Berel Lazar.
The siyum was recited by the teacher of the class, Rabbi Marzel, and the honor of beginning the next masechta – Maseches Sukka, was given to Rabbi Lazar. With participation of noted educator from U.S.A, Rabbi Zalman Leib Markowitz.
Many Torah thoughts were shared by the Rabbis, as well as words of gratitude and appreciation to Rabbi Marzel for his dedication in preparing these daily classes despite his full-time job in the Kashrus department, as well as running the Kolel.
As an additional token of appreciation, Rabbi Marzel was presented with a special “ksuba” by all the participants, thanking Hashem for the merit of completing Maseches Ksubos with their illustrious teacher. Attached was a gift certificate for 770 shekel at the famous Beitan HaSefer bookstores in Israel.
Rabbi Mordechai Weisberg, General Director of the Moscow Jewish Community Center, and a regular participant at this shiur since its very first day, spoke emotionally, and in conclusion launched the new schedule of the Center for Torah Classes: classes in a variety of languages on various topics, every day of the week, as well as matching up study partners in many different Torah subjects.
