Police: Hate Assault in Kiryat Moshe Was Not a Hate Crime

jlrnThe mainstream media in Israel is reporting an assault by a frum woman against an Arab woman at the Jerusalem light rail station in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood. Photos taken by a witness show a scuffle, and the report based on the witnesses statement point to an unprovoked attack against the Arab woman by the religious female.

Passersby in the area immediately came to the assistance of the Jewish woman the reports point out, and the male companion of the victim was “helpless”, adding a Jerusalem light rail security agent stood by and failed to act. The witness, Yordan Dotan, is quoted saying the Jew punched the Arab in her face and passersby shouted “don’t you dare touch a Jew” at the Arab victim, adding “you don’t have to be a genius to see the attack was nationalistically motivated”.

Police commenting on the assault admit the investigation is not complete but point to an argument between the two on the train that continued outside, not a hate attack as the media and the eye witness are billing it.
