Tov Campaign Hits Geula in a Big Way

t1The Tov (New Chareidim) campaign made a big appearance in Geula, Yerushalayim on erev Shabbos, 7 Cheshvan 5774. Party founder and leader Chanoch Werdiger’s message was played on a vehicular loudspeaker to get the message out to potential voters ahead of Election Day, 18 Cheshvan.

A 10 vehicle convoy made its way around the area on the busiest day of the week in the hope of gaining support for the party’s bid for seats on the city council.

  1. What inspired this bit of propaganda? The Tov agenda (and it is an agenda) is modern, not charedi at all. The last place Tov belongs is Geula.

  2. How wonderful!! They offer everything except any daas Torah that even partially supports what they are doing.

Daas baal habatim is the exact opposite of daas Torah. How true in this case too.

Why is it that so many ehrliche people who were seemingly true bnai Torah, go off the straight path with all sorts of strange ideas the minute they leave the Bais Hamedrash and start to work? I know all the complaints that they cant get into schools, are treated like 2nd rate citizens etc. etc. but the truth is that those few who remain true to daas Torah and live like yeshivaleit that also work are given full respect and treated equally. It is only after they try to espouse their “new” hashkafos that they are no longer accepted as bnai Torah (because they really aren’t anymore).
