Jerusalem Neighborhood In Shock: 5 Residents Niftar In 36 Hours.

The residents of the Kerem Avraham Geula neighborhood in Jerusalem are in shock after five residents of the neighborhood passed away, including a mother and son and two Gedolim, in the course of a day and a half, B‘Chadrei Chareidim reported.

It began after midnight on Motzei Shabbos with the bitter news from Laniado Hospital in Kiryat Sanz, Netanya on the demise of Mrs. Chaya Bracha Krishevsky, a’h, from COVID-19 at the age of 84. The nifteres was the wife of Reb Pesach Krishevsky, יבלחט”א, the famed drummer who plays at weddings per the Yerushalmi minhag and also known for being severely injured in a severe terror stabbing attack on Rechov Malchei Yisrael five years ago.

On Sunday morning, the residents of the neighborhood, along with the Torah world worldwide, were again plunged into mourning with the news of the petira of the Brisker Rosh Yeshivah, z’tl, HaGaon HaRav Meshulam Dovid Halevi Soloveitchik, who resided for over 50 years in his humble home on Rechov Amos. Although the Rosh Yeshivah, z’tl, had moved out of the neighborhood almost a year prior to an apartment near Brisk in Gush Shemonim, the residents of the neighborhood still maintained close ties with him.

Later in the day, on Sunday afternoon, the residents of the neighborhood and all of Klal Yisrael were again struck by bitter news, the loss of the Kaminetzer Rosh Yeshivah, HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Scheiner, z’tl, who had lived in the neighborhood for years on Rechov Tzefania.

In the late hours of Sunday afternoon came more bitter tidings – the petira of Rav Avraham Meir Britzel-Lifschitz, a Karliner-Stoliner chassid and respected member of the neighborhood Har Tzvi shul, who also resided on Rechov Tzefania. Rav Avraham Meir, who passed away in his home from a heart attack, spent the latter years of his life tirelessly collecting tzedaka for various causes throughout Israel and also served as a Rebbe to young Cheder children.

The next day came another shocking blow – the sudden death of Rav Chaim Shalom Krishevsky, z’l, who passed away at the age of 60 while sitting shiva for his mother, the above-mentioned Mrs. Chaya Bracha Krishevsky, a’h, only 24 hours after her death.

Rav Chaim Shalom, z’l, a Rachmastrivka chassid, resided on Rechov Malachi and was a member of the Har Tzvi shul. The niftar collapsed in his home on Monday morning and was evacuated to Hadassah Har HaTzofim Hospital, where the doctors fought to save his life to no avail.

Yehi Zichrum Baruch.

  1. no chareidi neigborhood should be shocked. If weddings and funerals gather hundreds or thousands of unmasked people, if cheiderim are open and the little ones pass it on to the adults, , the result is inevitable.

  2. BDE
    Terrible news 😩

How hard is it to wear masks to protect our neighbors, friends, family and community from this scourge!!

  3. Maybe Hashem is trying to tell them to listen to Hashem’s agents on earth, the doctors and public health experts. Or do they expect a bat kol to give them instructions?

  4. Reading these comments about masks are wrong. Even the people who are very careful on social distancing and those who constantly wear masks still get the virus at some point. Instead of blaming yiden for murdering other yiden look up to heaven and realize that it is not the virus that kills and it is not the vaccine that heals (although everyone should vaccinate and try to social distance) it is Hashem that makes people sick and it is Hashem that makes people die and it is Hashem that heals. Stop getting so carried away about masks! As if that is going to save the world! TRUST IN HASHEM! May we not know of anymore suffering!

  5. Masks are cheap and easily accesable.

What’s the worst that can happen if you wear one? Nothing.

What’s the worst that can happen if you don’t wear one? You, your loved ones, our precious teachers and leaders, may die.

  6. Oy, this is so sad! So many choshuveh people.
BTW, to those posters throwing chareidim under the bus – Newsflash – masks don’t work, never DID work and never WILL work. (Name ONE COUNTRY, NO -CITY- that had numbers drop from fatalities after legislating masks mandatory. Not one. They don’t prevent spreading. Get that into your heads.) These so called unproven, untested ‘vaccines’ are killing people and causing horrible side effects on others. As far as the Covid-19, we need Rachamei Shomayim more than ever, because NO ONE knows what to do. If there’s people to blame, blame it on all the ‘expert’ idiot world-wide scientists, doctors and others who we spend billions of tax money for research and are responsible and who it is their job to figure this thing out and didn’t!

  7. Wake up and read last weeks Parsha! Only Hashem can heal if we keep the Mitzvos!
I was the most careful especially for my father in law who went to the hospital for a medical condition and got the virus from the guy in the bed next to him who’s family claims got the virus from the hospital staff! I lost my father in law (a big Talmid Chacham) a month ago and my sister in law a few days ago and we were very very careful! I also got the virus visiting the hospital and of course wearing a mask!

  8. Dear beirar resident,
May Hashem be Menachem you and your family!

Also, B’derech Hateva, the people most responsible for all these deaths are the ones that suppressed the information of the HCQ+Zinc protocol, preventing that info from reaching from you and your family in time.
(aka “Zelenko protocol” and “Hydroxychloroquine protocol”.)

    Of course, it was Bashert.
But the human culprits will have to answer for lots of unnecessary spilled blood. Hashem Yirachem.

  9. Please correct mistake: Brizl-Lifshitz – Not Britzl.
BTW: The promoters of HCQ+ are behind the times. There are more effective, proven medication, such as Ivermectin. At present it is not FDA approved for Covid-19, and dont hold your breath waiting (until the costs of the vaccines are recouped++) but is widely used surreptitiously and has saved many lives. Check it out.
