  1. The Gerrer Rosh Yeshiva, Hagaon HaRav Shaul Alter Shlita is a very serious Talmid Chochom and manhig b’Yisroel. Why are they making him into a third-class Rebbele by having this clown performing for him?

  2. Theo, allow me to respond. For years, Lipa Schmeltzer was a split personality. He veered off the normal road and turned his appearances into clownish freak shows that imported some of the worst fads of the goyishe entertainment industry and were indeed revolting for any true ehrliche yid. But he always had a very warm and good heart and a great talent, and if you were lucky and came at the right time (as I once experienced myself), you could hear him deliver a half-hour of the most moving grahmen before a mitzvah tantz, which made it difficult for any person with a heart to keep from shedding tears. Several years ago (I believe it was spurred on by his father’s petirah, when he appeared together with his family for the first time in years at the levaya) he had a “hirhur teshuva” and decided to make a 180 degree turn, completely discarding all the meshugaas and filth and becoming a chassidishe Yid again. Thus, even though there is no bigger chosid of Hagaon Reb Shaul Alter than I, I see nothing wrong with bringing him to sing here, and if these clips are any indication, it was indeed some of his heartfelt and powerful grahmen that clearly even moved the Rosh Yeshiva.

  3. “Why are they making him into a third-class Rebbele by having this clown performing for him?”
Because the original clown they booked named “Theo” was unavailable since he was too busy posting insulting rants about two highly respected yiddishe musical artists name MBD and Lipa.

  4. Right “theo”
And next time though I’m sure they’ll correct their egregious error and invite Theo to perform and give words of chizuk- because after living in his parents basement for the first 45 years of his life there’s no better non-clown than Theo.
Please continue to surf the Internet in your parents basement at 2 o’clock in the morning and tend to matters more in line with your midget-sized intellect.

  5. Theo, you couldn’t say it better? It’s sadly a really good question!

Just one possible answer, if I may. The Rosh Yeshiva looks at every Yid as haylig: at every Yid as Hashem’s creation! Maybe, just maybe, this Yid will become better because he performed. May it taaka happen.

  6. Theo

His singing is like a tefilla. Look at the Rebbe. He isn’t responding to it like it’s laytznus. Why should you?

  7. Lipa Schmelzer made Teshuva. Maybe you should too. Your comment is pure Loshon Hora. The Gerrer Rebbe really enjoyed the hartzige performance

  8. There is only one Gerrer Rebbe and it isn’t R Shaul Alter. Notwithstanding his gadlus in Torah he made the decision to leave the Ger community and start his own. He doesn’t refer to himself as the Gerrer Rebbe. Let’s not forget who has been mekabel kvittelech and davening on behalf of Klal Yisroel.

  9. @Theo
Lipa is not the same person he used to be, he has toned it down a lot and he does have extraordinary talents, as is evident in these clips (and others).

  10. מיין קינד אויב ס’איז שווער, ס’איז נישט נאר אין גר, אין סאטמאר פאפא באבוב – בעלזא אויך
I think his cousin needs to hear this, not Rav SHaul.

  11. DT215. But Klal Yisroel gave up on the Gerrer Rebbe and chose the RY as the manhig of Klal Yisroel. That was very obvious during the visit of the RY here in the Tri-state.
Machlokes is a boomerang that always hurts those start it. Same for causing pain to Yidden. That is the reason that so many people left Ger and joined the RY
