MK (Bayit Yehudi) Moti Yogev feels the appropriate Zionist response to the petira of Ariel Sharon is the establishment of a new yishuv that is named after him. Yogev feels that the man who built so many yishuvim should be remembered in the same fashion. Yogev, a former career IDF officer wishes to perpetuate Sharon’s memory in a positive light amid calls from many Israelis who remember his 2005 expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif and communities in northern Shomron.
Yogev explains that “Even a large tree falls and this is what occurs when one wishes to cut oneself off from his roots,” referring to the expulsion… “My heart still aches over the expulsion of Jews from their homes in Eretz Yisrael, and as result, security was compromised and rockets have fallen on the Sycamore Farm and into Tel Aviv and Yerushalayim. Thousands of settlers had their hearts broken, citizens and pioneers who hit hard and many have yet to find their place to this very days.”
Nevertheless, he prefers to view Sharon’s work and dedication to building communities in Yehuda and Shomron and he feels the appropriate response is a new yishuv named after the late IDF commander and cabinet minister.
Israel news on motzei Shabbos showed the response in PA (Palestinian Authority) areas, with residents burning photos of Sharon and passing out candies to one another.

Going by the numbers, if the aim is to pattern after Mr. Sharon’s record, wouldn’t it also make sense, then, to destroy a good number more moshavim (in the name of peace), also in his name?

I think that they should dismantle an outpost in honor of him. Settelments cause hatred and resentment and erode Israel’s standing in the international community.

1 – Israel exists (al pi derech haTeva) only at the will of the international community .
2 – Israel grovels at the feet of the nations begging the nations to accept Israel as yet another goy nation, which the nations will never do.
Best idea would be to establish a yishuv for Charedim in memory of Sharon. The housing needs are immense and Sharon was not bothered or concerned about enlisting Yeshiva boys in the IDF, so it would be an honor.
