HERO: Orthodox Jewish NYPD Officer Saves Man Slumped Over on Subway Tracks [SEE THE FOOTAGE]

When an Orthodox Jewish NYPD officer received a report of a disoriented man who had fallen onto subway tracks at a Brooklyn station, he wasted no time in engaging in outright heroics.

Officer Meir Green, a resident of Boro Park, can be seen on bodycam footage dashing through the train station, rushing to reach the man before a speeding train did.

As Meir reaches the scene, the man can be seen slumped over on the tracks, unconscious or nearly so. The devoted NYPD officer then enlists the help of a bystander and together they pull the man off the tracks and to safety.

The man was lucky a brave NYPD officer was there. Barely 30 seconds later, a train came barreling into the station.

Commandong Officer of Community Affairs, Inspector Richie Taylor told YWN “I’ve known Meir Green for almost 20 years and I’ve seen him grow as a police officer. I’m not surprised to see his quick thinking and swift action in saving this person’s life. Police Officer Green truly represents what it means to be one of New York’s Finest!”

  1. If it had been an Arab officer, instead of one who wears a yarmulka, would it have made it to YWN? With all the heroic repetitive descriptions?

    no, it wouldnt
DID THE ARABIC NWES PAPER REPORT THIS?
WHY? THE JEWISH NEWS PAPER REPORTS WHATS NEWS FOR US AND OTHER NEWSPAOERS REPORT WHATS INTERESTING FOR OTHERS

No it wouldn’t be posted we don’t care about arabs they wouldn’t post Jewish stuff except to tell them to kill us. This is a cool story if it was a regular nypd it WOULD be posted so that’s a good proof.

Go to the train tracks if you want to test this out!

  4. Wow. An employee does the job he is getting PAID to do. Amazing. Punkt it was caught on camera. This must be a first. Kiddush Hashem! Me kiamcha yisroel?! Maybe this guy is the Moshiach?

  5. No one thought of asking the Shaila whether it is permitted to save a nisht unzere? Perhaps the answer is yes, but it is at least a Shaila.

  6. I can’t believe some of the comments on this article. First of all its a Jewish web site so if a jew is involved in the story it may be reported. Second, the police dept and the fire dept give out awards all the time for those who do something heroic. Even if that’s what they get paid to do.

  7. Joseph,

You’re sick, hateful and a stain on this website. The only shaila worth asking is if it’s permitted to save a Chillul Hashem like you.
