Despite the labor strike in the Israeli foreign ministry and the subsequent inability of Israel’s embassy in Nepal to provide supplies in for Pesach, Chabad Lubavitch has announced that it plans to carry out the famed Nepal sedarim as planned, the Jewish Press reports.
The reassurance made by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, director of the World Chabad-Lubavitch headquarters, was a response to by Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor statement made earlier in the week that there would be no seder this year in Nepal as a result of the labor dispute. Rabbi Kotlarsky and other shluchim involved in the effort have vowed to use all available resources to ensure the success of the sedarim.
The sedarim and the seudos yom tov in Nepal are known collectively as the “largest seder in the world” due to the nearly 10,000 Jewish travelers in Nepal who at some point during their trip, stop at the Chabad houses to experience Pesach.
