Operation Brothers Return Continues Despite Ramadan

idf

Operation Brothers Return continues today, Sunday, 2 Rosh Chodesh Tammuz 5774. While efforts to arrest wanted terrorists have been decreased, the search for Gilad Shaar, Naftali Frenkel and Eyal Yifrach continues. IDF officials’ report that 25 arrests were made during the night of motzei Shabbos, explaining at present the search is concentrated in the area northwest of PA (Palestinian Authority) occupied areas of Hebron. Some 14,000 IDF combat soldiers are involved in the operation; perhaps serving as an indicator the borders are relatively quiet at this time, permitting the shift of this sizable manpower to the operation. Over 2,000 PA homes have been checked by soldiers since the operation began and 413 PA residents have been arrested.

Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon has announced that “patience will be required”, promising the nation that the operation will continue until the three students are located.

An atzeres is scheduled for Sunday night in Kikar Rabin in Tel Aviv. Organizers announce the event is apolitical; highlighting it is for the purpose of giving a chizuk to the parents of the captive youths. The mothers of the captives are expected to address the tzibur at the event. The event is labeled “Singing Together to Bring the Boys Home” and prominent entertainers will be performing.

  1. We do not care about there Ramadan as long as they continue terror against us and our 3 teenagers are not returned!!!

  2. I like the way it says “despite ramadan”. If you’ll excuse me, WHO CARES ABOUT RAMAMDAN? Israel has always been so considerate of their holidays and their civilians etc. What good has it done? What kind of REAL religion behaves as they do? They don’t want peace! They want us dead!
Our message to them must be loud and clear. GIVE OUR BOYS BACK ALIVE AND UNHARMED!!!

  3. The “Prime Minister” is no better than our “President”, both are all talk no action. The “PM” should give hamas 6 hours to bring the boys home or once an hour bomb the gehinim out of Gaza, don’t think you would have to give them a second 6 hours. Big deal he talked to the parents of the boys.

  4. The problem with Ramadan is that the Arabs are awake all night (when they are allowed to eat) and that’s the most effective time for the IDF to make raids.

Or soldiers need extra rachmei shomayim. Let’s daven for them and our captured youths.
