As rioting continues in the Shuafat and Beit Haninah areas of Yerushalayim, residents of nearby Ramat Shlomo were warned to avoid walking around during shabbos. The warning referred to residents living between Ramat Alon and Shuafat. The fear surrounded the Arab rioting which officials signaled might spill over into their community.
Signs were posted in a number of shuls and gabbaim were instructed to leave a cell phone on in every shul in the event an emergency call had to be made.
Residents licensed to carry a weapon were asked to keep their weapons with them on Shabbos as well. Parents were instructed to keep a watchful eye on their children and not to permit them to wander about without supervision.
