A resident of the Israeli Arab municipality of Baka el-Garbiya was arrested last Shabbos after trying to grab an IDF soldier’s weapon. The 21-year-old suspect allegedly tried to grab a weapon from a soldier manning a military checkpoint. An indictment was filed in a Haifa court.

The suspect arrived at the checkpoint between Baka el-Garbiya and Baka el-Sharqiya as soldiers were checking the identity of a number of PA residents. He got into an exchange of words with soldiers and then tried grabbing the weapon of a soldier. He was overpowered and taken into custody.
