Court Extends the Remand of a Son of Yolish Krauss

ykr.jpgThe Jerusalem District Court on Monday 7 Teves extended the remand of David Nachman Krauss, 19, a son of Eida Chareidis Operations Officer Yolish Krauss. As such, he will remain incarcerated for an additional four days. The young Krauss is being held for assaulting Israel Police Rav Rabbi Eliyahu Charlop a month ago.

The story begins with Rabbi Charlop arriving in Meah Shearim to daven mincha. He was attacked by Krauss who shouted “Chardak” as he struck him. Police tried to arrest Krauss a number of times, albeit without success. They finally did get their hands on him while he was in the home of his grandfather in the shuk area of Meah Shearim.

The arrest was met with considerable opposition by neighborhood residents. Police report having to use riot-control adjuncts to extricate the officers from the area. Protests and violence continued into the early morning hours.

Police report the suspect is not cooperating and is exercising his right to remain silent.

  1. Mr. Yolish Krauss is not a member of the Eida Chareidus and never represented the Eida. He is a media bafoon who looks for attention. The Eida already said he has nothing to do with them.
