These Bochurim Made a Huge Kiddush Hashem on National Televison

CaptureFrom time to time the Jimmy Kimmel show likes to set up odd scenarios out on Hollywood Boulevard and see how long it takes for passersby to notice them and interact.

This time those scenarios involved SpongeBob Squarepants, bustling Hollywood street traffic and a few Yeshiva Bochurim. Some just passed over the fallen person others actually stopped to take pictures however no one actually stopped to lend a hand until a few Yeshiva kids happened to see the opportunity to help.

It is quite an amazing scene as they did not know they were being secretly recorded.

It took over 6 minutes for anyone to help until a group of Jewish teenagers saw the opportunity and made a sparkling Kiddush Hashem.

Perhaps a couple of naive kids, but let’s hand it to them! The קידוש ה isn’t diminished.

  2. It is indeed a beautiful thing they did. It is important for Jews to realize that EVERYTHING is ALWAYS being recorded. Ayin Roeh, V’Ozen Shomaas, V’Chol Maasecha Basefer Nichtavin.

It is surprising how many simple and easy opportunities we get to do chesed or to make a kiddush Hashem, or in this case, both. It can be as easy as opening a door for a person with a carriage or walker, or helping someone with a suitcase or carriage on the subway stairs.

  3. Fantastic Kidush Hashem! After dozens, maybe even hundreds of people passing, even jumping over him, only some Yeshiva guys stopped to help him up.
