A San Francisco man is spear-heading an effort to outlaw circumcision in the city. Lloyd Schofield claims to have already collected more than half of the required signatures for a petition to put the issue up for a popular vote on the city’s November ballot, but the effort has drawn widespread criticism from Jewish groups who practice circumcision as an important religious ritual.
Schofield and his supporters argue that circumcision of infants and minors should be punished as a criminal offense with fines and jail-time. “This is a human rights issue,” he said. “What you’re doing is you’re taking an infant and removing the most sensitive part of their body.”
The petition is seen by many as a clear violation of religious freedom.
Many Muslims also practice circumcision and representatives of Jewish community groups indicated that they would build an interfaith coalition to oppose the bill. The director of the Anti-Defamation League, Daniel Sandman, said the measure was unlikely to become law due to its inherent religious discrimination.
For the measure to make the November election, Schofield must collect 7,168 signatures by the late April deadline.

This is a city that is trying to outlaw circumcision, BUT at the same time wants public funding to pay for “trans-gender” surgeries??!!
One should look at this as a critical test case for the radical secularists who already have seized control of most media and a good deal of the Democratic party. Note how they have managed to force gay rights on the rest of the country. This is a trial balloon for their war on all religions.
It would be very easy for the Democrats to derail the idea by passing a state law precluding any such act, and by refusing to deal with anyone who supports this. If they don’t, we see their true colors.

Why am I not surprised that the same people who advocate for animal rights, and landed R’ Sholom Mordechai in jail, are the same people who are petitioning for this violation of religious rights.
The “majority of Germany” never voted any such thing.

read the article. This nut case is getting time on conservative, Republican radio talk shows. I haven’t seen any liberal or dwemocratic shows that are giving him a platform for his antisemitism.
#11 the Nazis at one point received 37% of the vote. Plus with the help of Von Papen who won a lot of the seats, Hitler was able to secure a majority. Papen later helped with the Anschluss of Austria. He was tried at the Nuremberg after the war.
So the majority of Germans voted in a Government sympathetic to Nazis.
