Monday Morning News Briefs From Eretz Yisrael


Sun. 21:36: Gunfire at IDF in Eilat region near Netafim. No injuries. Gunfire was 2km (1.2 miles) north of recent attack in which gunfire was directed at a bus.

** Israel’s Labor Party is holding primary elections today, Monday, in the hope of electing a new party leader in the first round election.

** University students have begun their strike against Tnuva, the nation’s largest dairy.

** Israel Radio: Despite earlier decision to ban travel to Syria, members of Israel’s Druse community will be permitted to travel to Syria to spend their holiday with family members in that country.

** Police bomb demolition technicians neutralized an explosive device on Kibbutz Galiot Street in Rosh Ha’ayin on Monday morning. The matter was reported to be criminal in nature and not a terror-related.
