Shas party chairman Minister Aryeh Deri feels cities working to amend local regulations to permit operation businesses on Shabbos represents mayors �Running their reelection campaign on the cheshbon of Shabbos�. He explains the mayor of the cities are well-aware there will be no difference between today and in two weeks from now, but they are simply looking for popularity.

While a Tel Aviv court placed a temporary damper on Chilul Shabbos plans in Givatayim, other cities including Holon, Rishon L�Tzion and Herzliya have joined the list, announcing they want to permit a regulated number of businesses to operate on Shabbos too.
