Since the formation of the current coalition, one could say there is an ongoing visible effort between the chareidim and dati leumi party to get along, to cooperate with one another rather than remaining on opposing sides. That said, MK Moshe Gafne on Tuesday afternoon 7 Teves said, “I hate the dati leumi leadership…”

Gafne was talking in the halls of Knesset on Tuesday afternoon, with journalist Ohr Yazrieli from the Knesset Channel and Shirat Avitan-Cohen of Makor Rishon when he is quoted saying, “I hate the dati leumi leadership. Not personally. They are like the chareidim were 50 years ago. They only see themselves”.

Yazrieli later reported it is possible that Gafne’s comments were prompted by the inability of the chareidim to find a working/acceptable wording for a new draft law.
