Unlike in the Past, the US Unequivocally Backs Israel’s Right to Defend Herself

The United States has released statements backing Israel’s retaliation against Iranian terrorist objectives in Syria. Iran launched 20 rockets at Israel, which was met by a massive Israel Air Force response.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to the Wednesday night events, with a clear unambiguous statement of support for Israel’s’ right to defend herself.

“This just further shows that the Iranian regime cannot be trusted. Israel absolutely has a sovereign right to defend itself and we support them in whatever efforts they have in order to defend themselves,” stated Huckabee Sanders to Fox News.

“Again, I think this activity and this action is just further demonstration that the Iranian regime cannot be trusted and another good reminder that the president made the right decision to get out of the Iran deal,” she concluded.

IDF Spokesman Brigadier-General Ronen Manelis told Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) on Thursday morning that he is confident in the coming hours, the Iranians will begin to learn just how badly they were hit and that months of work to establish a presence in Syria was destroyed by the IAF, which struck all intended targets in a widespread operation, the largest in many years.

He warns “We mustn’t become complacent on the matter”, stating he has been among those warning of the Iranian threat in recent years and now the international community see what Iran really is.

Syrian media reports that at least 23 people were killed in the IAF strikes, including five members of al-Assad’s forces.

On Thursday, a full statement was released by the White House:

“The United States condemns the Iranian regime’s provocative rocket attacks from Syria against Israeli citizens, and we strongly support Israel’s right to act in self-defense.  The Iranian regime’s deployment into Syria of offensive rocket and missile systems aimed at Israel is an unacceptable and highly dangerous development for the entire Middle East.  Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) bears full responsibility for the consequences of its reckless actions, and we call on the IRGC and its militant proxies, including Hizballah, to take no further provocative steps.

The United States also calls on all nations to make clear that the Iranian regime’s actions pose a severe threat to international peace and stability.”

  1. quite a difference between Obama the bum and his administration who supported the Arabs and cut down Israel at every opportunity as compared to Trump who sees Iran and the Arab world with the reality as it is.

We must thank HaShem that we can stop our enemies before they attack us. Trump, who may not be the great image of a president as Obama was, is still a gift to us from haShem.

    Hodu laShem, key tov….
