Baruch Rofeh Cholim: IDF Soldier Seriously Wounded in Vehicular Ramming Attack Regains Consciousness

The IDF soldier who was seriously wounded in a vehicular ramming attack has, B’chasdei Hashem, regained consciousness.

Captain Yisrael Elitzur, who was injured in a vehicular ramming attack, has regained consciousness but is not yet speaking. He does however seem to understand as he responds to questions with head and hand gestures.

A border policeman was also wounded in the attack, albeit less seriously.

Ruth Elitzur, the mother of the wounded soldier, explains that “the doctors decided to bring him out of the medically induced coma, and Yisrael Meir began to move his head and respond.” She explained that she and her husband, Rav Noam Elitzur, “are grateful to HKBH for the miracle and they continue to be mispallel for his total recovery. He remains in need of tefilos”.

Officials at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer Hospital report Captain Elitzur remains in an intensive care unit.
