Pindrus: Lieberman Will Vanish, the Chareidim Will Remain

In the shadow of MK Avigdor Lieberman’s visit to Maale Adumim, to express his staunch opposition to opening chareidi talmidei torah in secular areas, MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Yitzchak Pindrus visited Maale Adumim the following day in a showing of solidarity with the children.

The children of Maale Adumim are being discriminated against by the city’s mayor, Benny Kashriel, who continues to sabotage any and all efforts to establish a talmid torah in the city, and this is true for both the ashkenazi and sephardi communities.

On Sunday, MK Lieberman arrived to express his support for this discriminatory policy, announcing that he opposes the establishment of talmidei torah in secular cities like Maale Adumim. His visit was another step in his vehemently anti-chareidi election campaign.

During his visit on Monday, Pindrus told the children there was a similar fight taking place when he was a child, in the Old City, when Talmid Torah Zilberman was not accepted without a difficult battle. He explained that since his childhood there has been a shortage of buildings for education and it appears this continues today.

Pindrus was critical of the city’s Likud mayor, stating, “All of them, those who think they can diminish the chareidi tzibur all over the country, from Nahariya to Be’er Sheva, did not succeed. It will not help them, whether they are called ‘Likud’ or the many other parties that arise like mushrooms after rainfall. There is yet another anti-religious one, and Lieberman is his name, and it won’t help him at all since a kehilla will arise here.

“B’ezras Hashem, with the koach of Rav Nissim Ze’ev who I know for many years”, if the tzibur remains steadfast, despite the battle, they will emerge victorious.

“While it might appear easy to harm the chareidim, know one thing, that the chareidim are homesick about someone. Oy voy voy. He will be done but we will remain. We will remain here… we will remain here. We will succeed here and there will be Torah here, and there will be Yiras Shomayim here”.
