TZNIYUS POLICE ARRESTED: Ashdod Resident Vandalizes Shops & Signs Showing Photos Of Women


An Ashdod resident was arrested by police detectives on suspicion of vandalizing shop windows and advertising signs with photos of women as well mannequins dressed in women’s clothing in store windows. He confessed to his actions during questioning by police.

In addition, the suspect was seen during the act, captured by area surveillance cameras of the Ashdod shopping center. Some of the store windows were painted white and signs were vandalized, signs belonging to a number of businesses.

When police checked the suspect’s vehicle, they found a can of paint, spray paint and balloons filled with paint. Some of the balloons were thrown at areas he could not reach by hand. Police add other items which are not detailed, were found in the suspect’s vehicle, tying him to the crime scene.

The suspect was taken for an arrangement hearing on Wednesday.

  1. Its not clear what kind of deterrent will stop this type of vandalism. Consider putting him in the Varbeshe section of the prison for a few weeks and perhaps he will come out with a changed attitude.

  2. This is the shameful but inevitable result of creating a chumrah and passing it off as halachah. There is absolutely nothing wrong with photographs of tzniut women!!!!!!
