CHASUNAH CANCELLED: Kallah Whisked Away By Her family MINUTES Before Her Chuppah Takes Place [VIDEO]

A Chareidi Kallah who was supposed to get married on Monday at her Chuppah in a high-class event hall in Ashkelon, was whisked away from the hall after she had arrived for the wedding photoshoot. It is suspected that she was whisked away from the wedding by family members who did not approve of the marriage.

Family members told BeChadrei Charedim that the Chosson “deceived the Kallah”, which caused her father and other family members to staunchly oppose the marriage. The family members added that the Kallah was forcibly removed from the wedding hall by her family, even though she wanted to marry the Chosson.

A source told YWN that the father of the Kallah had demanded at the wedding that he enroll in a Kollel following the wedding, and not begin his planned work as a bus driver. This led to an argument, and the family of the kallah taking her home.

One of the guests told BeChadrei Charedim: “This is simply outrageous. Here we are at the event hall together with all of the other invited guests, the band is here, the tables are set, and no one knows if the wedding was actually going to take place.”

According to a report on channel 12 news, the Chosson’s family refuted viral claims on social media that the Chosson was involved in any misconduct. Instead, member’s of the Chosson’s family claim that the father of the Kallah wanted the Chosson to stay in Yeshiva. When he refused, the Kallah’s family ended the wedding by forcibly removing the Kallah.

  1. Presumably, the last few paragraphs of the article were somehow omitted describing how the father and other members of the kallah’s family are sitting in jail on kidnapping charges and assault charges for “forcibly” removing this young woman from the simcha hall. If not, then then it should be explained why the police nave not yet brought charges and hopefully will do so soon.

  2. There is obviously a lot more to the story that YWN is reporting. Perhaps another sensation story ti elicit comments from the readership.

  3. If she is old enough to get married, she is old enough to decide her life. Mind you, if I were the Chosson’s family I’d keep far away from these crazies.

  4. So it’s ok to spread malshinus in order to ensure that she not marry a bus driver? Will her family now make sure never to ride a bus again?

  5. Well, actually, among the Litvisher in Eretz Yisrael working and not going to kollel is considered a horrendous thing, like you’ve left frumkeit. So while I disagree with it, you gotta see where the kallah’s family is coming from.

  6. At least things are not so bad in Israel that they murdered her for despoiling the family’s honor. They simply wanted her to marry a Ben Torah. What is wrong with that? All you Americans who read and comment on YWN should know that things are different in Israel than in America. In Eretz Yisroel, a Torah lifestyle is really practiced, not just winked at like in New York. Just because you order your triple-decker sandwich with pickles and a diet cola in Yiddish doesn’t make you a real Yid. Stopping your daughter/sister/cousin marrying a working man is real mesirus nefesh for Torah.

  7. Well waiting till right before the chupa to demand that the chassan learn in Kollel is a close second in Bizzarro world records to forcibly removing the kallah from the wedding!

  8. “….you gotta see where the kallah’s family is coming from..”

No Motchah11: You gotta see where the kallahs’ family is GOING and bY’H that will be to prison on charges of kidnapping and assault. Sadly, the judiciary is likely to drag its feet and fail to take aggressive action against these crazies. Hopefully, YWN will keep us updated and we will see them dragged off to jail.

  9. The family of the kallah obviously knew his plans to work beforehand, and probably tried to strong-arm him into changing his plans at the last moment. How sad.

  10. Mazal Tov! Mabruk! BH their alive and well and so hearing this news I say I’m happy that this is overall not a terrible story… it’s much easier to disassemble the wedding tables, music and so on then to break things up later… wasn’t meant to be… time to move forward.

My Bracha to the girl and boy to find their true partners for life soon!

  11. This is too ridiculous. How old are this couple, did she know he wanted to work? And please tell me what is wrong with a husband wanting to provide for his wife instead of sitting and learning?. He can always make time to learn.

  13. Some see this as humorous. I don’t. Perhaps the author used a bit of hyperbole when he said the girl was “forcibly” taken away. Hopefully, that was the case. If they convinced her at the 11th hour that the boy was not a good match, thats fine, and she may have been upset but left of her own volition. If not, than this clearly puts the parents at legal jeopardy. Too much left unclear.

    > They simply wanted her to marry a Ben Torah. What is wrong with that?

What makes you so sure they even know what a “Ben Torah” is? Was there a contract stipulating their expectations? How did it reach this far in the first place?

  15. Gadolhadorah: I clearly said I disagree with that shitah. In fact, if they are jailed I’m happy. But there is no way we are going to change the fanatic outlook Litvaks in Israel have about men not working. I was just saying that from their point of view it’s terrible that the chosson did not intend to go to kolel. It’s a negation oftheir entire world view. I suppose they would sit shivah. But I strongly disagree with them, and I mourn for the kallah.

  16. Motcha: thank you for the clarification and sorry if I misunderstood. As noted in my follow up posting, I’m hoping the use of the word “forcibly” was in error and there was no physical force used. Its not unheard of for a kallah to change her mind at the 11th hour and sometimes in response to revelations from the family or friends but the article made it sound like some third-world country where the bride is viewed as the property of the family.

  17. No sound like, Israel is a third world country in many respects. First world countries do not tolerate law-breaking groups, like peleg, ruling the roost.

  18. To learn after marriage is a beautiful thing when theres money to support it, but to say if a man goes to work he’s not living a torah lifestyle is crazy, if something isn’t torahdik its not supporting your family, this new phenomenon of not working and letting the wife work is AGAINST TORAH VALUES, the kesubah states that the man supports the wife not vice versa, yes working and being קובע עיתים is the torah way for the majority of jews , the other way is wrong!! Not me saying that, Its a חז״ל, יגיעת שניהם משכחת עון
